The Starlet Series~Episode Four~1940's Ginger Rogers Inspired Look
To be honest, this is pretty standard 1940's styling and considering my hair length and color, it resembled Judy Garland more than Ginger. *sigh* :) But, I adore Ginger and felt she deserved the recognition. Plus, I love the 'glow' she always seemed to have. Enjoy! And don't forget to rate and subscribe. I'll be posting a blog entry dedicated to Ginger sometime this week.

'Street Repeat'-1940s Hair/ Reverse Rolls/ Victory Rolls (No Backcombing)
This is an almost play by play remake of one of my earliest tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COg4eiEFAJE It was a trial run using my new camera so the actual tutorial quality will likely as I get more comfortable with it. This is a simple vintage style that can be done on previously styled hair and doesn't require much curl. No setting, no back combing...and pretty dang authentic in spite of that. PLUS the added bonus of some of you ladies boasting your own rolls at the end. :) xoxo

1950 Bette Davis Relaxed Curls Hairstyle
A 1950 side parted softly waved hairstyle similar to Rita Hayworth but without a 'waterfall' effect . The curls relax around the bottom and look looser and less maintained. Margo's hair 'flips' out in the photos but in the movie, this is not so evident. If you want the ends to be 'flipped', hold your hand just above the curls and pull your brush outward to achieve this look. Thanks for watching. Please rate and subscribe.

1920's Hair/Makeup: 1920-Jane
PLEASE EXPAND: This is the first in what promises to be the longest venture of my youtube career. I have decided to tackle individual looks from the silver screen starting with 1920 and hopefully moving all the way into the present. It is an homage to and expansion of a series I started long ago in which I recreated, to the best of my ability, era specific styles from the 20's to the 80's. The last two of that series were removed for quality issues but the others still remain: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBD14EF8975EDD5F8 I started this series with Jane, the heroine of the acclaimed horror classic The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, as portrayed by Lil Dagover. For more on the film, the products used in this tutorial, and why I used them, feel free to click the following blog entry: http://lisafremontpages.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-starlet-series-episode-1-1920.html Music: From 1920, Al Jolsen's 'Avalon' From the film: "Despair" from The Soundtrack of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.
