Gerald Scarfe - Long Drawn-Out Trip - (excerpts including "Mickey Mouse scene")

04:09
Clips from Gerald Scarfe's first and very rare animated film. The film was shown once in its entirety by the BBC in 1973 and Scarfe has a video copy of it! These clips are from the 1987 BBC documentary "Scarfe on Scarfe". More recently BBC4 showed an edited version as part of their "Animation Nation" series. The missing part was the "Super Dollar" section shown here from 0:20 to 2:10. The full title of the film is: Long Draw-out Trip. Sketches from Los Angeles

Göta Kanal (Sweden) Vacation Travel Video Guide

25:16
Travel video about destination Göta Kanal in Sweden. The Göta Canal is Sweden's construction of the millennium and connects Kattegatt on the west coast with the east coast of the Baltic Sea, and is the main waterway through Sweden, from Gothenburg to Stockholm. Gothenburg is a seaport that was founded in 1621 and on Packhus Quay, close to both the Maritime Centre and the Opera, the Wilhelm Tham on which we shall travel across Sweden, awaits us. Shortly before Trollhättan our first adventure begins as the boat ascends within a masterpiece of canal design. Over a short distance, six lock systems built in a row overcome a height difference of forty four metres. One lock after the other opens up, and the inflow of water raises the boat to the next level. Our journey leads into the Bottensjön that is connected to Lake Vättern until we finally arrive at the port of Karlsborg. Behind the walls of Karlsborg Fortress are barracks, various buildings and a church. A truly massive structure, built in 1809 after Sweden had lost Finland to Russia. At Berg the captain skilfully steers the boat into the Carl Johans locks. Our descent is complete and we continue on the long drawn-out Lake Roxen. Again, a natural body of water forms part of the eastern Göta Canal, a remnant of the Ice Age, thirty three metres above sea level. The crossing of southern Sweden has only been made possible due to the construction of the Göta Canal, an amazing waterway with sixty six locks and countless bridges. -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. Long Island Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia (4K)

11:45
https://www.expedia.com/Long-Island.d602887.Destination-Travel-Guides Long Island stretches eastward for 115 miles, from the New York boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens to the bluffs of Montauk Point.   Take the short train ride from Manhattan to the sands of Long Beach, which for many is where Long Island begins. From here, Long Island’s protective barrier islands continue all the way to Westhampton Island. Halfway along the chain, visit Fire Island Lighthouse, which for generations of immigrants was their first glimpse of America.   Many of those immigrants went on to create vast financial empires, and it was on Long Island’s northern shores where they built the mansions that would inspire F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic, The Great Gatsby.   At the Cradle of Aviation Museum in nearby Hempstead, discover how Long Island launched generations of aviators into the wild blue yonder. Nearby, continue your flight into the past at the American Airpower Museum.   In the mid 1800s, well-to-do New Yorkers were drawn to the unspoiled beaches of Long Island’s East End. Today, the pioneer settlement of Southampton Village is a place where history and style have blended as smoothly as the spirits in a Long Island Iced Tea. The past been also been beautifully preserved in nearby Sag Harbor, a historic whaling port immortalized in Moby Dick.   Just a 30-minute drive east from Sag Harbor is Montauk, a place locals refer to as “The End”. America’s first president, George Washington, commissioned Montauk Lighthouse on Long Island’s easternmost point. Climb to the top to take in the sweeping views of this place that has played center stage in some of America’s greatest stories.

The Jacobite (Scotland) Vacation Travel Video Guide

25:40
Travel video about The Jacobite. Fort William is a small town on the banks of the long drawn-out Loch Linnhe in the Western Highlands of Scotland, and the starting point of our journey. At Fort William Station, a train known as The Jacobite is awaiting its passengers. This is the revival of a bygone age now brought back to life with this fine steam locomotive. Soon we have crossed the impressive Caledonian Canal and the line travels along the foothills of Loch Linnhe and negotiates a bend to the west at Fort William, as the route becomes increasingly narrower. The West Highland Railway was one of the last lines to have been built in Scotland and was once used for commercial traffic. Suddenly it emerges in the distance, the bridge that made film history with Harry Potter´s magic train, the Hogwart Express. At a slower pace, the train rumbles into Curves Viaduct, across Loch Shiel. From time to time the rocky shore of the Sound Of Sleat archipelago appears, as the train makes its way along the meandering tracks. It was not until the beginning of the nineteenth century that a road was built in this region, the Road To The Isles, which opened the way for holiday traffic. Today, the splendid Jacobite continues to be a sight to behold as it steams its way along one of the most beautiful railroads in the world. A remarkable experience on a remarkable railroad! -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. R.E.M - Motion Graphics film

03:06
a short animated film by artist Danny Nichols. Known for comic books, this is a nod to the traditional days of films that were hand drawn and which always have a more expressive presentation than computers. The imperfections lend charm. Being a kid that grew up on Disney and Ray Harryhausen films it's no surprise I prefer these to computer animated material. Gerald Scarfes 'Long Drawn Out Trip, was also a key influence on this project. Da Captain Trips - Adventures in the Upside Down (2017) (Full Album)

45:11
Da Captain Trips - Adventures in the Upside Down (Full Album). Da Captain Trips are a jam band plying their trade out of Italy. They formed "as a joke in 2009 by three overweight beardy friends" - their words not mine! They are a band who can seem strangely overlooked by the psych community. Da Captain Trips have always been a band not constrained by one single approach to music making, they incorporate many different styles, genres etc in their output making them always interesting and always worth checking out. 'Adventures In The Upside Down' is no different - taking in psychedelia, Space Rock, Prog, krautrock and even surf and, all in all, a damn fine listen! 'The Calm And The Storm' opens the album with a long, drawn out drone and some electronic effects before a lonesome guitar is heard over the drone - it's all very melancholic and sounding distinctly nautical, with a 'twanging' downbeat surfy vibe. The track opens up to become a motoring psych/space rock number with flashes of kosmische electronica under the guitar. 'Manta' has an intro that reminded me of the 'Knightrider' theme - random I know!. However, it immediately transforms into another chuggin' track with more than a hint of krautrock about it...so far, so great. 'Revelation' is something different altogether....the twang heard in the first track returns with vengeance...a trippy, surf vibe is built, like Jan and Dean on acid, broken only by passages of more cosmic electronica and jazzy psych with saxophone courtesy of Lee Relfe from Sendelica. It's a great track that leaves the listener wondering where things are going next. 'Dear Zahdia' has a very retro feel about it, the vibe is very seventies with flashes of prog, mainly due to the organ sounding synth work. As the track travels it's course things become heavier and far more psych. 'Trespasses Bay - Peaceful Place' is the longest and most complex of the tracks. It has again that wonderful twang guitar giving it a surf feel and, like the previous track, it does have a proggy feel at times but in the main it is a slowburning, psychedelic meander, chocked full of atmosphere and plenty of reverb. The last section has some great electronica that once again takes us back to the seventies. The album is brought to a close by 'Mother Earth'...starting with some bucolic guitar that is bordering on folk, it is an initially pastoral track that shows another side to the band - a side that is not afraid to eschew their psychedelic musings for something more introspective and contemplative... for a while at least..it blossoms into a superlative jam as it nears the end of it's ten minute length. 'Adventures In The Upside Down' is a great album, full of invention and wonder - taking different aspects of the 'psych' world and mixing them to form an album that is actually remarkably restful and evocative. It is still as trippy as hell in places but, maybe more than their other recordings, more reliant on technique and craft rather than all out jamfests. It is, in short, a 'grown up' album. Nazca Vacation Travel Video Guide

09:53
Travel video about destination Nazca. Approximately 450 kilometres south of Peru's capital of Lima a desolate road leads into the vast terrain of the scant, desert-like highlands. In the midst of this almost lifeless world and surrounded by sandy mountains is the small airport of Nazca. Indeed, a single aircraft once made this region famous. One day while flying here in 1939, American Paul Kosok made an amazing discovery: long drawn-out lines that extend across the ground that are the traces of a mysterious pre-Columbian culture. These strange hundred metre lines were created by the Nazca culture and according to archaeological research date back to the sixth or seventh century B.C. Since their discovery they have created much controversy with regard to their origin, function and significance. There are more than a hundred lines and figures within the surrounding plains and mountains. Most of the markings were revealed by the removal of the top layer of dark stones from the ground. In recent years one of the images known as the Astronaut has captured the imagination more than any other. The proportions and geometric precision of the different images raise numerous questions. How could the Nazca people have created these gigantic designs? Recently a further image of perfect proportions and measuring a hundred metres was also discovered. But how were those who created these enormous images able to gain a true perspective of their work? Is it possible that a precursor of the hot-air balloon existed in those bygone times? -------------- Watch more travel videos ► https://goo.gl/MXPgSs Join us. Lake Tahoe has forever drawn travellers to its shores, from the Native Americans who call this place Big Water, to the trappers, timber cutters and pioneers who followed. When you’re ready for a little alpine magic, take the four-hour drive from San Francisco to the sunlit shores of Kings Beach. Set on Tahoe’s northern end, this beach was named after local card shark, Joe King, who used his winnings to develop some of the lake’s earliest lodgings. On the lake’s southern shore, is Pope Beach, where you’ll find another Tahoe institution, Camp Richardson. From Pope Beach follow the bike path to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. An open-air classroom for the entire family, the center features fabulous interpretative walks such as the Rainbow Trail. Nearby, at DL Bliss State Park, follow the spectacular Rubicon Trail into neighboring Emerald Bay State Park. This park is home to the Eagle Falls Trail, a moderate two-mile hike that takes in some of the Sierra high country’s finest views. When the ponderosa pines bend with the season’s first snow, Tahoe transforms into the nation’s favorite winter playground. Whether you’re looking for snow-capped peaks or crystal clear coves, places to bond with loved ones or pockets of pure solitude, The Lake in the Sky has it all.

10 Reasons To Try Airbnb

08:13
GET $33 OFF YOUR FIRST TRIP: www.airbnb.com.au/c/aford34?s=8 Here are my top 10 reasons for why you should try using AirBnB for your next trip away! #1: You get to stay with a local! We all know as travellers that there is nothing better than staying with a local! You can pass on knowledge, learn different languages and maybe even make a life long friend. #2: No more hostel dorms! With airbnb, you get to stay in a house (95% of the time) or even your own apartment! It will come to a point when you get sick to death of sharing a cramped hostel room with 14 other people. So why do it? Instead, for a similar price you could have your own room, living like a local and get cultured by the minute! Everyone loves a few home comforts now and then! #3: It can be cheaper! For so long, travellers have believed that hostels are their cheapest option. But why? Because they are basic, you get a matress (sometimes!) and a bit of floor space but are willing to spend $30+ per night. Yes hostels have their up sides, don't get me wrong. But for the same price or a little more, you can stay in an incredible place, apartment, house, TREEHOUSE, bungalow, beach hut! If you are travelling as a couple or even a group, airbnb is definately a cheaper option! With thousands of locations boasting rooms under $40 per night, when you split that between two or more... You see where I am going with this? #4: YOU WILL FIND SOME EXTRAORDINARY PLACES! #5: Explore locations away from the tourists! A lot of listings do not lie in the heart of the city or main tourist strip, but instead just outside. Make sure you can get transport into the city (if you want to) but normally the tourist attractions are super easy to access whilst you stay somewhere so many tourists will never see! All these places above except for the treehouse in Noosa (where you needed a car) are super close to town, but are just far enough away to provide stunning landscapes, local eateries and not a postcard stand in sight. You'll become cultured by the minute! #6: Your host can give you insider tips! We know local knowledge is invaluable to travellers! Well with airbnb, your host may just be able to recommend where and where not the eat, how to access the secret pathways which lead to a secluded beach paradise which only the locals know about or just how to get into the city cheaply! Think about all the places you would recommend to a traveller visiting your hometown, that's what it would be like to live with a local! #7: The process is so easy! With airbnb, the process is not long and drawn out, repeatedly filling out contact details etc. Once you profile is set up, you are good to go! The only unique point is that not every listing is an "instant book". Generally you can request to stay with a host, give them a few lines on why your travelling, and they can approve or decline your booking request which for good hosts is normally within 24 hours! But don't worry if you need a room quickly, there are plenty of "instant book" places! #8: They have an app! We all love a good app, and airbnb have A GREAT APP! This means you have access to thousands of listings all over the world, right in the palm of your hand. And again, the process is just as easy, which means you can search listings, filter your results based on price, facilities etc, book a room and even read reviews! #9: YOU CAN MAKE MONEY! There is nothing better than free money right? Well with their referral programme you can earn free travel credits every time a friend signs up and makes their first booking with airbnb. #10: The review system is honest and down to earth! I think pretty much every traveller relies on other travellers' reviews when deciding on a place to stay. However, sometimes it's tough to decide whether the reviews are honest, and you never really get anything back once you review somewhere you have stayed. That's where this site is different. You have 14 days to review a place you stayed at, not only that, YOUR HOST CAN REVIEW YOU TOO! The Good Looker 16

20:37
Of this episode my parent would be proud, down in the woods today, a bear’s picnic paints a perfect picture but encrouches on Gruffalo territory, ladies and gentlemen, I give you a sighting of Bigfoot that is sure to leave you floored, a trip on a long drawn out scarf maybe cuts short a view from the top.

Jurassic Park 3 Toy Movie

07:16
I own no rights to Universal Studios, Amblin Entertainment, Jurassic Park, The Lost World Jurassic Park, or Michael Crichton. This video is a combination of Hasbro (formerly Kenner), CORPS!, and True Heroes toy movement paired with related movie audio. It has been combined and cut in order to create a fluid and entertaining film. Certain pieces of film and audio were cut and/or revised due to difficulty filming and/or avoiding having long drawn out scenes. I am hoping that this video is both entertaining and inspiring for those that have a true appreciation and understanding for this type of creation. The film follows scenes and audio from Jurassic Park 3. Please enjoy, like, and share!

"Beautiful Kaua`i" - Slack Key from Walnut Creek

03:09
We're gearing up for our trip to Kailua and I suddenly realized that my last video was shot on our trip last year. What happened? I guess the cold rainy winter and the long drawn out cold/flu dampened my creativity. I've been noodling around playing "Beautiful Kaua`i" in taropatch tuning, so even if we're not headed to the Garden Isle it was what my hands wanted to play. And the new decor in the guest bedroom seemed like a suitable location. The Tony Yamamoto OMY https://yamamotoguitar.com/ is the guitar featured here, tuned to taropatch open G (D G D G B D from low pitch to high). I recorded the audio using a Zoom H6 with the XY mic module. Video is from two Panasonic Lumix GH4s edited in Edius 8.

Colombia | We Have Arrived!

07:43
After a long drawn-out 14 hour journey, we have finally arrived to the beautiful, biodiverse country that is Colombia! We spent the first week of our trip with Lucy's lovely family in the capital city of Bogota. During our stay, we ticked off a few cultural hotspots on our list including El Museo de Botero, La Candelaria, La Mina de Sal, and Monserrate. Lucy's uncle, Gilberto also composed a lovely song celebrating our arrival to Colombia. On the last day of our stay, we were invited to an 'asado', a typical Colombian barbecue, where Gilberto sang the song and the family spirit levels were high. We cannot be any more grateful to Lucy's family for helping us ease in to Colombian life! STAY TUNED for the next exciting part of our travels! MOALBOAL TO BORACAY (ENDLESS TRAVEL DAY)

07:19
Not the most exciting day.. but then again, not all travel days are. A lot of people see the immense beauty of each and every location we go to and don't take into account about half our time is spent doing this; waiting at airports, on busses and trains, and traveling between locations. So, its not all glory and beauty. This was an exceptionally long and drawn out travel day from Moalboal, Cebu, to Boracay. After a few travel hiccups we finally made it to the infamous Boracay. If you want Lito's contact me on direct message. He was great in assisting multiple transport and travel situations for us. This is the start of our journey to pursue a life fulfilling our travel passions while we document the ups and downs of embracing the 'location independent', remote working - digital nomad - lifestyle. The Bastinado Galop (Circus March)

01:44
This march's composer, Russell Alexander, was born in Nevada City, Missouri in 1877. He was an excellent euphonium soloist who toured with Barnum & Bailey on their 5-year tour of Europe. It was during this extended trip, probably on some of those long drawn out journeys, that he wrote many of his best marches. On returning home he teamed up with his two brothers, Newton and Woodruff, plus their partner, James Brady, to form the vaudeville musical act, "Exposition Four". Alexander had been dogged by poor health throughout his life and this finally caught up with him when he died at the early age of 38 years in a sanatorium in New York. This march was recorded by Sun Life Stanshawe Band of Bristol, England, in 1979.
