3HRS Stunning Underwater Footage + Relaxing Music | French Polynesia, Indonesia 4K Upscale

03:00:14
NO MUSIC VERSION @ https://youtu.be/wJIbhSYteK0 | Watch via On-Demand: https://naturerelaxation.vhx.tv/new-releases-from-david-huting/videos/rainbow-reef-relaxation-3-hours-hd-nature-relaxation-w-music | DOWNLOAD/DVD: https://www.naturerelaxation.com/products/rainbow-reef-relaxation-3-hr-dynamic-underwater-film-w-music-hd | ABOUT THIS FILM: From the cinematographer: "The footage for this film was shot over a period of some years in French Polynesia, Micronesia, Indonesia and East Timor. Unfortunately there are not that vibrant anymore today. Coral reefs have suffered from the rise of water temperature, rise in acidity, destructive fishing methods and severe storms caused by climate change." - Peter Schneider. "Rainbow Reef Relaxation" is a 3-hour long, sweeping yet majestic & vibrant underwater journey to the world's most beautiful lagoons, as captured by Nature Relaxation collaborator Peter Schneider (Underwatercam) paired with ambient underwater sounds and brand new ambient music by the Cynic Project. Filmed in High Definition several years ago, thanks to its age this film offers magical glimpses of an underwater world that is bursting with life, color, and beauty. Unfortunately, reefs today in most of the world are suffering from severe bleaching and so with this film we hope to raise awareness by showcasing the divine beauty that only pristine underwater reefs can present, in hopes that it will motivate the viewer to take action and help save them before its too late! (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/01/coral-bleaching-reefs-climate-change-el-nino-environment/) More from Peter S: "We all know that nowadays! This gives us the privilege and also duty to change and rethink our role in nature. What we also know today is that everything is connected and we are all a part of Nature, yes we are nature. So we don’t have to save the world, but recognize it as family. What we do to the world, the world will give it back to us. Equally the good and the bad things, that is law. The good news in it is, ...it is all up to you and me and everyone. You matter, I matter because we are all belonging to the same family. Now take a deep breath and join us for a dive beneath the waves." Solomon Islands Coral Reef in 4K

14:18
Coral reefs are diverse underwater ecosystems held together by calcium carbonate structures secreted by corals. Coral reefs are built by colonies of tiny animals found in marine waters that contain few nutrients. Most coral reefs are built from stony corals, which in turn consist of polyps that cluster in groups. The polyps belong to a group of animals known as Cnidaria, which also includes sea anemones and jellyfish. Unlike sea anemones, corals secrete hard carbonate exoskeletons which support and protect the coral polyps. Most reefs grow best in warm, shallow, clear, sunny and agitated waters. Often called "rainforests of the sea", shallow coral reefs form some of the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. They occupy less than 0.1% of the world's ocean surface, about half the area of France, yet they provide a home for at least 25% of all marine species, including fish, mollusks, worms, crustaceans, echinoderms, sponges, tunicates and other cnidarians. Paradoxically, coral reefs flourish even though they are surrounded by ocean waters that provide few nutrients. They are most commonly found at shallow depths in tropical waters, but deep water and cold water corals also exist on smaller scales in other areas. Coral reefs deliver ecosystem services to tourism, fisheries and shoreline protection. The annual global economic value of coral reefs is estimated between US$29.8-375 billion. However, coral reefs are fragile ecosystems, partly because they are very sensitive to water temperature. They are under threat from climate change, oceanic acidification, blast fishing, cyanide fishing for aquarium fish, sunscreen use, overuse of reef resources, and harmful land-use practices, including urban and agricultural runoff and water pollution, which can harm reefs by encouraging excess algal growth I Don't See the Branches, I See the Leaves di Chris Zabriskie è un brano autorizzato da Creative Commons Attribution (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Fonte: http://chriszabriskie.com/dtv/ Artista: http://chriszabriskie.com/

Coral reefs are some of the richest hotspots of biodiversity on the planet. The warm water reefs of the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea are well know, but they dont only occur in warm waters. In some of the oceans coldest, darkest depths they are thriving. The deep water reefs are formed by icebergs as they slide across the sea bed, leaving behind perfect foundations for coral to build upon. Hidden from view, they criss cross the planet from the deep water tropics to the freezing Arctic. Some have never been explored by humans. Underwater cameramen have ventured down to the pitch blackness to find life thriving. In this one hour HD special, our team will enter this alien environment. Adventure coral reef under the sea of Egypt

Traveling on throughout a number of the South Pacific's most spectacular reefs, the filmmakers also visit some reefs on the verge of extinction, making the sobering point that an entire reef's death occurs very quickly, while its creation takes thousands of years. Coral Reef Adventure marks the third oceanic, ecologically-themed film from MacGillivray, following Dolphins. Also featured in the film are famed sea explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of the pioneering oceanographer Jacques Cousteau) and noted ichthyologist Richard Pyle. Subscribe for more videos :-)

Unfortunately there are not that vibrant anymore today. Coral reefs have suffered from the rise of water temperature, rise in acidity, destructive fishing methods and severe storms caused by climate change." - Peter Schenider. Now take a deep breath and join us for a dive beneath the waves." MUSIC INFORMATION: Filmed by The Cynic Project (http://www.CynicMusic.com) by Alex Smith. WATCH MY FILMS FREE ON AMAZON!! BBC Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough 1of3 Builders - HD

58:02
BBC – Great Barrier Reef with David Attenborough (2016) 1080p David Attenborough returns in this landmark series to his most magical place on earth exploring the Great Barrier Reef aboard the research vessel Alucia. Part 1: Builders David descends beneath the waves at night in the state-of-the-art Triton submersible, the first of its kind to visit the reef. He meets some of the tiny coral animals that built the reef and helped to turn it into an underwater wonderland. He then takes to the skies to witness the vast scale of their endeavour, a living structure that provides a home for thousands of species. Using cutting-edge technology to generate computer scans of the sea floor, David learns that the Great Barrier Reef we know today is much younger than scientists ever imagined. He meets some of the people that have lived alongside it and who have told stories of its origins for thousands of years.

Australia's Great Barrier Reef | beautiful underwater nature | Scuba Diving the Ribbon Reefs HD

04:43
The Ribbon Reefs are a string of ten large reefs that together form the outer edge of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. One feature of the Ribbons is that they serve to shelter the inner reef from big storm damage. The Ribbon Reefs are home to some of the GBR's most popular dive sites. "Steve's Bommie", "Lighthouse Bommie" and "Cod Hole" are among the best known. But there are also other more recently discovered sites that were real standouts on our recent expedition (June 2011). "Acropolis" is one of the sites that is new to me. It boasts the most perfect fields of Acropora coral I have ever seen. Table corals that are 12' / 3.6m in diameter are common here. Uninterrupted fields of staghorn corals extend beyond the 100' / 30m visibility in all directions. Coral cover is close to 100% on this reef. Such coral density is getting rare enough these days... but considering this whole region recently slept through Cyclone Yasi, then the still-pristine state of "Acropolis" is testament to the resilience of coral reefs, the protection the "barrier" offers the inner reef, and the general patchiness of storm damage. Liz and I dived and worked on the Ribbon Reefs a decade ago—in fact, it's where we first met. During our expedition last month, we were thrilled to see the sites were in even better condition now than when we last saw them. Familiar coral heads and bommies seem to have more fish than ever. The corals are in better condition, and of course bigger than they were 10 years ago. The many anemones I used to film each week have found new tenants, but are still right where I last saw them: True clownfish have replaced the Pink anemonefish on top of "Steve's Bommie", while Barrier Reef anemonefish have replaced Spinecheeks a little further down the site. It was like returning to an old neighbourhood... some faces may have changed, but the same houses stand strong. This video shows a random mix of footage from the Ribbon Reefs dive sites. I hope it doesn't take another 10 years before I re-visit them again. —Josh Jensen ~ Music: "Air on the G string" recording owned by Partners In Rhyme and licensed to Undersea Productions for commercial use. Dive beneath the ocean waves and explore the unique and diverse relationships found on a coral reef. How do species interact on a coral reef? Dive beneath the ocean waves and explore the many unique symbiotic relationships found in this diverse ecosystem. In addition to showcasing live footage from a unique ecosystem, each of the three videos in the Exploring Ecosystems series features an opportunity for students to actively participate in a problem-solving scenario based on an ongoing research project of an Academy scientist. As you watch the video, be prepared to pause at key points to participate fully! Explore a coral reef in the Philippines with biologist Luiz Rocha with Bubbletip Sea Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor) and their Maroon Clownfish (Premnas biaculeatus) guests, Whitetip Reef Sharks (Triaenodon obesus), Wrasse (Labridae), and Blenny (Blennioidei) in their symbiotic and parasitic relationships, as well as Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) and Cleaner Fish as we look at abiotic and biotic relationships. The Coral Reef Symbiosis video investigates the following questions: How do species interact on a coral reef? What are the effects of abiotic and biotic interactions? How do these interactions influence patterns of distribution and abundance within this ecosystem as a whole? Check for Understanding Describe two concrete examples of mutualistic relationships found on a coral reef, being sure to describe what each organism gets out of the deal. Key Scientific Terms abiotic: non-living commensalism: a type of symbiosis where one organism benefits and the other is not affected in a positive or a negative way ecosystem: the community of different species in a particular geographic area and all of their interactions with each other and the physical environment mutualism: a type of symbiosis where both organisms benefit parasitism: a type of symbiosis where one organism (the parasite) benefits and the other (the host) is harmed symbiosis: a long-term relationship or interaction between individuals from two different types of species; the symbiotic relationship has a positive, negative or neutral impact on the participants Connections to High School Standards AP Biology EK 4.A.5: Communities are composed of populations of organisms that interact in complex ways. Drugs from the sea: What do we lose when coral reefs die? | Marc Slattery | TEDxUM

11:06
The evolution of multidrug-resistant infectious diseases has required the continued search for sources of new drugs and coral reefs are the focus of recent attempts to identify drugs from the sea. However, coral reefs worldwide are declining due to increasingly common threats from climate change, pollution, disease, and overfishing. Conservation and sustainable use of these important coral reef habitats are crucial for many reasons, not the least of which is their role in mankind’s current and future attempts to stem the tide of drug resistance. Marc Slattery is a Professor of BioMolecular Sciences at the University of Mississippi’s School of Pharmacy. His interdisciplinary research program focuses on biotechnological potential of natural products isolated from marine invertebrates. Slattery uses clues from the field, as well as biochemical profiling, to target likely biomedical activity in the samples he collects. His work has taken him to the tropical Indo-Pacific and Caribbean, temperate, and polar ecosystems, and he has utilized SCUBA, technical diving, and submersibles to access samples from shallow and deep coral reefs, kelp forests, marine caves, ice covered oceans and lakes, and the deep sea. Slattery is committed to outreach and support for local stakeholders relative to fair and equitable shared development of partner countries’ marine genetic resources. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

What Would Happen If All The Coral Reefs Died Off?

02:50
We're currently facing the worst bleaching of coral reefs ever known in history, but what would happen if all the coral reefs died off? We've already lost 50% of the world's coral, and we're at risk of losing even more. If the world lost all its coral reefs, the results would be dire.  Read more from Business Insider's "Saving Our Planet" series here: http://www.businessinsider.com/saving-our-world-2018-4 Tech Insider tells you all you need to know about tech: gadgets, how-to's, gaming, science, digital culture, and more. Coral reefs are filled with colorful ocean life. But they're in danger of dying off. The planet has already lost 50% of its coral in the last 30 years. If the rest go, the consequences would be dire. Sea life has the most to lose. Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor. But, they provide an essential ecosystem for a quarter of all marine life. One of these creatures — a type of sea slug — is actually an important ingredient in certain cancer-fighting compounds. In fact, some estimates predict we are 300 to 400 times more likely to find new drugs from coral reef ecosystems than land-based ones. But that’s only if they survive the next century. In addition to breakthrough medicines, over half a billion people depend on these reefs for food and work. Almost 1/5th of the world's protein comes from seafood, with people eating on average almost 50 lbs per year. The US fishing industry supports 1.5 million jobs alone, nearly a quarter of what the US meat and poultry industry employs. Without reefs, billions of sea life species would suffer, millions of people would lose their most significant food source, and economies would take a major hit. But it’s not just about the jobs. Coral reefs attract tourists to more than 100 countries and territories worldwide. These tourists spend billions of dollars diving into the underwater landscapes. Without these attractions, economists estimate that coastal-tourism would drop more than 9%, which is equivalent to about $36 billion. These reefs also provide protection to the tourist-reliant coastlines. They act as natural barriers, canceling out 97% of a wave’s strength and protecting more than 200 million people. Building seawalls for the same protection costs $2.5 million per mile. But today humans are putting these all at risk. Rising ocean temps and pollution stress the coral, which can kill entire coral ecosystems within just a few months. Half of the US Caribbean coral died in one massive bleaching event back in 2005. If we do nothing to cool the oceans, the planet’s remaining coral could all be wiped out.
