Asset Catalog Creator Tutorial / Demo for macOS

01:28
A brief look at how to easily make iOS and OSX icons and splash screens with Asset Catalog Creator for macOS Available now on the Mac App Store https://www.bridgetech.io/Asset%20Catalog%20Creator.html https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/asset-catalog-creator-resizer/id809625456?ls=1&mt=12 A NUMBER 1 DEVELOPER TOOL IN 69 COUNTRIES Asset Catalog Creator takes any image and creates a full set of icons, launch screens or pretty much any other type of image that you’ll need to make an app on any of Apple’s platforms. Unlike other icon generators, batch resizers or scripts, these are converted directly into the latest Asset Catalog format; eliminating any additional steps before they’re ready to use. As of iOS 12, there are 26 different image sizes needed for a universal app icon as well as another 26 different splash screen dimensions! Even if you already have an automated way of batch resizing images it’s a tedious process to identify and drag all of the files into their respective places and then deal with any misfitting sizes. Asset Catalog Creator is configured with well over 100 image dimension requirements so you’ll never need to look a size up again. Asset Catalog Creator is designed to be quick and easy to use and fit seamlessly into your workflow. All you need to do is add an image, point the app to where your project is, pick your icon type and export. The app finds the existing asset catalog(s) and has advanced merging abilities that allow it to append or overwrite based on your choices. If you’ve never used Asset Catalogs in your apps before, now is a great time to start. You’ll find managing and organising your image files much easier and you’ll also benefit from improved performance and reduced app install size, thanks to the smarter way asset catalogs are compiled and archived into binaries. LIST OF SUPPORTED ASSET TYPES iOS App Icon, Launch Screen, iMessage Icon watchOS App Icon, Complication tvOS App Icon, Launch Screen, Top Shelf, Top Shelf Wide tvOS Game Centre Leaderboard, Dashboard macOS App Icon Universal Universal and device-specific image sets, in @1x, @2x (Retina) and @3x (Retina HD variants or as single vectors ) FEATURES Continuously updated for the latest asset; currently, iOS 12 with iPhone Xs, Apple Watch Series 4, iPad Pro and 4K Apple TV icons etc. Support for importing images in numerous formats: png, jpg, bmp, pdf, svg and more Batch exporting options Automatic best image variant selection: add images at multiple sizes and have the closest match used for each asset Advanced image validations, letting you know when images are to be upscaled etc. Retaining vector images; automatically converting vector-based PDFs and SVGs into PDF assets Support for merging new assets into existing catalogs whilst maintaining your folder hierarchy Automatic image naming and renaming Previews for launch screens and tvOS Image Stacks Preset image sizes for assets used in-app, i.e. tab bar button size, nav title size etc. Automatic alpha removal handling, removing alpha channels where necessary to ensure iTunes Connect acceptance STANDARD AND PRO APP VERSIONS The app is available in two different versions, Asset Catalog Creator & Asset Catalog Creator Pro. Both versions have an identical set of features but have different pricing structures to suit your preference. Asset Catalog Creator gives you the ability to make iOS app icons out-of-the-box and you need to unlock the ability to create each additional type of icon via in-app-purchases. The in-app-purchases are all non-consumable so will be unlocked permanently and can be used across all of your computers. The difference with the Pro version is that every type of icon etc. is unlocked out-of-the-box and there is nothing additional in the app for you to purchase. [Xcode Pro Tips] How to use Asset Catalogs to support Named Colors?

06:22
As you know, you are able to use Xcode Asset Catalogs to manage your images and other file-based resources since iOS 7. But from iOS 11 (with Xcode 9), Asset catalogs support named colors that can be used in source files and Interface Builder. You can create a color that is device-specific or the same on all devices. You give the color set a name and it appears in the color menu in Interface Builder. https://www.developerinsider.in/xcode-pro-tips-how-to-use-asset-catalogs-to-support-named-colors

Demo #8 -- Working with the Asset Catalog - IBM Dev and Test Cloud, v1.3

08:05
This video introduces the Rational Asset Catalog, the Definitive Software Library for all images, documents, and files for the Development and Test cloud. Search functions and well-designed filters allow the user to find what they are looking for among the hundreds of images and files. The catalog also has areas such as "My Dashboard" that holds the assets that you own, and the ones that you have subscribed to. Another feature of the Rational Asset Catalog is the concept of communities that control access to your images. The owner of an image can create one or more forums that keep those who subscribe updated on the changes and comments as an image is developed and tested.

Universal Search and Digital Asset Optimization with Anne Kennedy

08:45
In this video interview, SEO expert Anne Kennedy explains the power of universal search and digital asset optimization, that is, the optimization for SEO results for not only text, but images, videos, podcasts, etc., and gives tips on how to do it. Since 2004, Google has been showing images, videos, news, etc. within its search results. The effect is to change eyetracking patterns from the familar "Golden Triangle" to an immediate eye movement to the image, then a circular pattern around it. If you don't have images on a search page for your keywords, you're missing traffic. Kennedy encourages placing keywords in a title within an image file as well as in the file name, then embed images within relevant text on the webpage. Search engines are now looking at "meta data" within images and audio, but the text surrounding the image is the most important factor. To begin, (1) catalog the digital assets that you currently have. Then (2) insert relevant keywords into text around images. (3) Be sure to give images keyword-rich filenames, even if you have to ride herd on website developers. Kennedy gives an example of how one of her clients, The Concrete Network, began developing short instructional videos hosted on a YouTube channel. At first it increased branding and traffic to their site. Now, traffic from YouTube is greater than search-driven traffic.
