The story of the House of Gucci. They mastered the art of branding, line extensions, retail experiences, and product licensing strategies. Italian designers have sailed forth from their native shores like the explorers of old to conquer much of the new world with their coveted treasures and shiny retail palazzos. They have infiltrated the dream factories of Hollywood and now their names are as ubiquitous on the red carpets as on the Milan runways. Born from humble beginnings in Florence’s 1921, Gucci’s first incarnation was a small, family-owned saddlery shop. Its focus was on leather goods for the fine horseman: saddles, boots gloves and saddlebags. Founder Guccio Gucci (1881-1953) was inspired by the luxurious luggage of travelling Parisians whilst living abroad and soon turned the business’s attention to fine leather goods with classic styling. Although Gucci organised his workrooms for industrial methods of production, he maintained traditional aspects of fabrication. Initially, Gucci employed skilled workers in basic Florentine leather crafts, attentive to finishing. With expansion, machine stitching was a production method that supported construction. Ferre catwalk 'HOMME COUTURE' FROM FERRE Monday afternoon (26th June 2006) at Milan Fashion week, architect-turned-designer Gianfranco Ferre presented his masculine view of Spring/Summer fashion 2007 aptly titled "Homme Couture". This season's Ferre man has a casual cool, dressed in natural materials of crepe and cottons. The colour palette reflected the lightness of fabric with stone and metallic tones punctuated with kangaroo, crocodile and snakeskin. Ferre is renowned for his evolutionary style rather than radical changes in design. In recent seasons he has spiced up his classic look with an overtly sexy edge but this collection saw a return to the fine tailoring which made him his name in the 1980s. "This collection was designed for an active man, urban, who likes class and quality," he said, "He understands the quality of the brand and appreciates high tailoring. Thursday (15 Sept. 2011), the Italian fashion house celebrated 20 Years in the country by presenting a special China inspired silk fashion collection. In China, Ermenegildo Zegna currently have 75 stores in 32 cities. According to Gildo Zegna, CEO and grandson of the founder of the Italian firm, China has become their top market in the world: "It is the most important market and we are the biggest player, in the men''s (fashion) for sure, and we are among the top five biggest players in global luxury in China," he said in a recent interview with the Associated Press. "So it is a challenge to keep the leadership. It means that the brand is well appreciated and that we have been doing some good things." Gildo Zegna says that early entrance has benefited the brand as it helped them understand the taste and capacity of Chinese consumers earlier than their competitors. It also gave them a chance to move into smaller, fast-growing cities. The numbers of millionaires is on rapid increase in China and this group of people is driving the sales of luxury goods. According to various statistics, China is projected to become the world''s biggest luxury market by 2020. To mark the firm''s success, Zegna has presented a fashion show which ended with a China-themed silk collection for Spring 2012. South Korean pop star Taeyang collaborates with Italian fashion house Fendi
(27 Jul 2017) SOUTH KOREAN POP STAR TAEYANG COLLABORATES WITH ITALIAN FASHION HOUSE FENDI South Korean pop star Taeyang was in Hong Kong Thursday (27 JULY) to promote the collection he designed for Italian fashion house Fendi. The capsule collection, called "FENDI for Young Bae" uses Taeyang's real name - Dong Young-bae instead of his stage name. The collection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts and accessories designed with Taeyang's favorite color – black - with words or images that are inspiring to the artist, such as "grace," "faith," and "passion." The 29-year-old singer attended Thursday's event wearing pieces from the collection. A large crowd of fans and onlookers gathered at the store to get a glimpse of the star. This is Taeyang's first time working as a fashion designer. He said that he worked closely with the brand for three to four months to produce the collection and thoroughly enjoyed the process. "I worked closely with Silvia Fendi (creative director). The people at Fendi really listened and took to my ideas. It's a wonderful collaboration and a great experience," said Taeyang. Taeyang is a member of the widely popular South Korean boyband "BIGBANG." While his bandmate, T.O.P, has been in the news recently because of drug related charges, Taeyang is focusing on expanding his solo career. For the next few months, he'll be working on writing songs for the game, "I'm a singer, so I will use my musical talent to write songs to cheer on the athletes to show my support," Taeyang said. For over 90 years, Fendi has been an internationally celebrated furrier and luxury goods fashion house lauded for their elegance, luxurious innovation and timeless quality production. The family owned house is particularly famous for their contributions to women’s fashion specialising in luxurious leather bags and fur coats. Adele Casagrande and her husband Edoardo Fendi founded their famous fashion house in 1925 as a furrier and leather goods label. Their first major success was with their handcrafted artisan bags. The established house was then passed on to the next generation, the famous dynasty of Fendi daughters. Visit the online shop, click here: http://calozero.it/ Italian fashion; Italy is one of the leading countries in fashion design, alongside others such as France, USA, Great Britain and Japan. Fashion has always been an important part of the country's cultural life and society, and Italians are well known for their attention to dressing-up well; "la bella figura", or good impression, remains traditional in the Italian way of living. Italian design became prominent ever since the 11th-16th centuries, when artistic development in Italy was at its peak. Cities such as Venice, Milan, Florence and Vicenza started to produce luxury goods, hats, cosmetics, jewelry and rich fabrics. During the 17th-early 20th centuries, Italian fashion lost its importance and lustre, and Europe's main trendsetter became France, with the great popularity of French fashion; this is due to the luxury dresses which were designed for the courtiers of Louis XIV. However, since the 1951-53 fashion soirées held by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in Florence, the "Italian school" started to compete with the French haute couture, and labels such as Ferragamo and Gucci began to contend with Chanel and Dior. In 2009, according to the Global Language Monitor, Milan, Italy's center of design, was ranked the top fashion capital of the world, and Rome was ranked 4th, and, despite both cities fell down places in subsequent rankings, in 2011, Florence entered as the 31st world fashion capital. Milan is generally considered to be part of the "big four" global fashion capitals, which, aside from the Italian city, consist of New York City, Paris and London; occasionally, the "big five" also includes Rome. Examples of major Italian fashion houses are: Gucci, Armani, Emilio Pucci, Valentino, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Roberto Cavalli, Trussardi, Versace, Krizia, Etro, Miu Miu, Laura Biagiotti, Max Mara, Fendi, Moschino, Missoni, Bottega Veneta, Benetton and Brioni (fashion),to name a few. Italy also is home to many fashion magazines, such as Grazia, Vogue Italia, Amica, Flair, Gioia. Other Italian accessory and jewelry brands, such as Luxottica and Bulgari are amongst the most important in the world. Fashion in Italy started to become the most fashionable in Europe since the 11th century, and powerful cities of the time, such as Venice, Milan, Florence, Vicenza and Rome began to produce robes, jewelry, textiles, shoes, fabrics, ornaments and elaborate dresses.Italian fashion reached its peak during the Renaissance. As Italy is widely recognized as the cradle and birthplace of the Renaissance, art, music, education, finance and philosophy flourished, and along with it, Italian fashion designs became immensely popular (especially those worn by the Medicis in Florence. The fashions of Queen Catherine de' Medici of France, were considered amongst the most fashionable in Europe). Florence is regarded by some as the birthplace and earliest center of the modern (post World War Two) fashion industry in Italy. The Florentine "soirées" of the early 1950s organized by Giovanni Battista Giorgini were events where several now-famous Italian designers participated in group shows and first garnered international attention. Florence has served as the home of the Italian fashion company Salvatore Ferragamo since 1928. Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Emilio Pucci are also headquartered in Florence. Other major players in the fashion industry such as Prada and Chanel have large offices and stores in Florence or its outskirts. Florence's main upscale shopping street is Via de' Tornabuoni, where major luxury fashion houses and jewelry labels, such as Armani and Bulgari, have their elegant boutiques. Via del Parione and Via Roma are other streets that are also well-known for their high-end fashion stores. - Abbigliamento uomo donna autunno inverno primavera estate CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy giubbotti jackets clothes dress wear dressing Fashion Style Beauty Designer Collection Mode Modeling Vogue Role Dior Armani Dolce Designers Boutique Jeans Pants Boots Tight Outfit Flash Dresses Modelling Fancy Jacket Hats Shorts Wearing Gloves Silk Shiny Dirty Satin Glasses Pink Wet Shoes Lace Outfits Coat Suit Shades Lycra Thigh Scarf Accessories Stocking Uniform Costume clothing clothes apparel dress wear attire dressing garb raiment array rig luxury CALOZERO clothing Made in Italy. Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana accused of insulting China, blames hackers
Italian fashion house Dolce and Gabbana is blaming hackers for insulting remarks about China it allegedly made in conversations on Instagram. Screenshots posted on social media appear to show co-founder Stefano Gabbana referring to China with crude terms while defending his company's recent promotional video. Gabbana apologized but clarified that his account was hacked. Meanwhile, its ads, which have been deleted from the company's Weibo account, continue to cause an uproar. The videos featured a Chinese woman using chopsticks to eat pizza and other Italian food. Many Chinese called the videos racist and full of outdated stereotypes. This also prompted several Chinese celebrities to boycott its Shanghai fashion show. The event has now been canceled. Italian fashion designer Laura Biagiotti, known as the 'Queen of cashmere', dies at seventy-three
(26 May 2017) ITALIAN FASHION DESIGNER LAURA BIAGIOTTI, KNOWN AS THE 'QUEEN OF CASHMERE', DIES AT SEVENTY THREE Laura Biagiotti, an Italian fashion designer who conquered global markets with her soft, loose women's clothes and luxurious knits that won her the nickname "Queen of Cashmere," died on Friday (26 May 2017) following a heart attack. She was 73. Biagiotti suffered the heart attack Wednesday evening at her estate outside of Rome. Doctors were able to resuscitate her but by then serious brain damage had occurred. She died in a hospital in the capital. Her daughter, Lavinia Biagiotti Cigna, announced her mother's death on Twitter, conveying the news with a Biblical passage: "In the house of my father there are many places. If not, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you." Biagiotti began designing women's clothes in the 1960s and by the 1980s was making her mark. In 1988, she became the first Italian designer to put on a fashion show in China, presenting dresses and blouses in silk and cashmere, and in 1995 was the first to have a show inside the Kremlin walls in Moscow. She expanded into men's clothing as well, and created a plus-size women's line, Laura Piu, and a line for children. Her company produced sunglasses and other accessories and perfumes, including the popular "Roma" fragrance, named after Biagiotti's home city. Born Aug. 4, 1943, Biagiotti studied to become an archaeologist but abandoned those plans to help her mother run a dressmaking business. In those early years, she traveled frequently to the United States to learn business and technology. After collaborating with such famous fashion houses as those of Emilio Federico Schuberth and Roberto Capucci, she presented her own collection in Florence in 1972. "Being a fashion designer is like taking vows. It becomes your religion for life," she told The Associated Press in 1987. She was always deeply proud of her native Italy, and for years wore a cashmere shawl woven in the red, white and green colors of the nation's flag. "I'm convinced that the true gold mine in our country is the 'Made in Italy' label," she said in 2011. Biagiotti lived in a medieval castle on a hilltop outside of Rome that she had restored, and which was the headquarters for her business. Her husband, Gianni Cigna, who had also been her business partner, died of leukemia in 1996. She is survived by her daughter Lavinia, who works as the creative director of the fashion house. Music for Italian Fashion Designer Peter Langner
On May 20, 2016 Italian fashion designer Peter Langner (http://www.peterlangner.it) used my composition, The Other Side, as the music to this video for the unveiling of his 2017 bridal collection at the international leading bridal exhibition Sisposa Italia Collezioni in Milan, Italy. The video played on a giant video wall as models hit the runway wearing his latest creations - each a unique work of art! Peter's bridal and evening gowns have graced the covers of magazines like Martha Stewart,/USA Bride, and have been worn by celebrities including Sofia Vergara, Kate Grammar, and Mirada Lambert. On a personal note, I was deeply honored as Peter is an incredibly gifted and skilled designer - his work is brilliant. It was a challenge to complete this music - the original composition was only 2 minutes and I had to stretch it to 10! Writing long pieces of music wasn't the challenge - it was reinventing something my brain perceived as "finished" that was difficult! A fun process for sure. Musicians on this recording include Ben Bram (PTX producer/arranger and 2X Grammy Award winner), Tim Davis (LA based vocal contractor and singer - GLEE, DISNEY, etc), Aubrey Logan (LA-based jazz singer and trombonist), Ann Marie Calhoun (an accomplished violinist who has toured with Yanni, Hans Zimmer, and so much more), and LA-based String Mob. This piece would not sound as it does without each of these special and talented people. On a technical note, I used a new plug in by OUTPUT called MOVEMENT all over the vocals and strings - incredible piece.

Shares of the Italian fashion house were nearly flat in their debut on Friday, amid lukewarm investor interest for the city's most glamorous IPO of the year. Prada shares gained as much as 50 cents, or 1.2 percent, to 40 Hong Kong dollars in the first hour of trading but by midday were changing hands at 39.55 dollars, just five cents higher than the offering price. The stock was widely expected to tank on its debut because of slumping global markets and worries from Hong Kong investors that they would have to pay Italian taxes. But while it didn't drop, it also failed to track gains in the broader Hong Kong market as the Hang Seng Index rose 1.3 percent. Milan-based Prada sold 423.3 (m) million shares, or a 16.5 percent stake, to raise 16.7 (b) billion Hong Kong dollars (2.1 (b) billion US dollars), in its initial public offering. The stock was priced at the low end of the offer range. Despite the lacklustre performance, Chief Executive Officer Patrizio Bertelli was upbeat at a listing ceremony. "We are positive that the Chinese market, Greater China is going to be the market of the future," he said. Prada, which also owns the Miu-Miu, Church's and Car Shoes brands, sold 95 percent of shares to big global investors. 2012 autumn-winter collection presented in Milan Italian fashion house Versace. Fashion designer Donatella Versace presented his own company's founder and his brother Gianni Versace's version of how to dress in medieval fighter. Metallic luster than abundant on the coats and jackets or dresses on. Metal parts and decorated with silk dresses, designer coordinated by the desire of exciting high heels. Byzantine crosses motives - another leitmotif of this collection - not only decorated with white dresses, but the frock coat and riding. www.sewing.lt ---------------------------------------------- 2012 metų rudens-žiemos kolekciją Milane pristatė Italijos mados namai „Versace" .
