How to Fix “Low Back” Pain (INSTANTLY!)

Pick your program here - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW Low back pain is by far the most common source of discomfort we deal with. The irony is, a lot of times what we feel is rooted in the lower back is actually caused by muscles not in the back at all. In this video, I’m going to show you how the glute medius could be the real cause of your back pain and a quick exercise you can do to relieve your discomfort instantly. Once gone, I’m also going to show you a few additional exercises you can do to make sure your low back pain never returns. The gluteus medius is sandwiched between the glute maximus and minimus and lies in and around the hip area. The role of the muscle is to abduct your hip or lift your leg out to the side in either standing or side lying and to keep your pelvis level whenever you take a step. Prolonged sitting during the day as well as an unequal weight distribution when standing are two of the most common reasons for this muscle to get weak and imbalanced. You can quickly test to see if you have the makings of a weak glute medius by standing with your feet shoulder width apart and lifting one foot off the ground. First take note whether or not your opposite hip drops significantly. If it does, this would indicate a glute weakness on that side. You would repeat with the opposite foot as well. When you do this you would also want to see if you had to dramatically shift your weight to one side just to lift that foot off the ground. If you do, this would indicate that you have an unequal weight distribution when standing and it would be especially troublesome when squatting. To fix this quickly, you will want to lay down on the ground with your affected side on top. If your right lower back was bothering you then you would want to lie on your left hip. From here, take your thumb and place it on the area most sore. You should feel that this is going to happen just to the outside of the bony prominence of your pelvis. From here, push to hold back the trigger point and start flossing your leg down and in front of you and then back and up. Your hip should be extended and then lifted into abduction towards the ceiling (being sure to point the toes down to keep the glute medius in focus). Do this about 10 times until you feel the tension in the muscle release. Now, you can burn out the spasm in the trigger point by getting into the fully contracted position of the glute medius muscle and holding as long as you can. Generally, because this muscle is often very weak, this may not be any longer than 30 seconds to a minute. Once you cannot hold it any more you will stand up and you should notice an immediate relief of the pain on that side. This is the quick but not permanent fix for this problem. Since the underlying cause is weakness in the gluteus medius muscle you will want to back this up with some exercises for your low back that you can do a few times a week. I show you three options for this. The first is the hip bump against the wall. The second is called the sack swinger, and can be done with a dog leash if you don’t have a formal dip belt. The last is actually doing the same movement that you did for the treatment, but this time as a strengthening exercise for your low back. Whatever you do, just be sure you are consistent. You will also see that as you relieve the tension in this muscle that your squat performance improves as well. Your depth should be increased and any low back pain that you felt by doing the exercise should be gone since you will now be able to do them with equal force through each leg. 5 Steps to Lower Back Pain Relief

04:16
Dr Saran's 5 Steps to Lower Back Pain Relief Lower back pain or lumbago is a musculoskeletal disorder affecting 80% of people at some point in their lives. It is the most common cause of job-related disability, a leading contributor to missed work. It can be either acute, sub-acute or chronic in duration. Fortunately, most occurrences of lower back pain go away within a few days. Others take much longer to resolve or lead to more serious conditions. Acute or short-term low back pain generally lasts from a few days to a few weeks. Symptoms may range from muscle ache to shooting or stabbing pain, limited flexibility and/or range of motion, or an inability to stand straight. Some acute pain syndromes can become more serious if left untreated. Chronic back pain is measured by duration. Pain that persists for more than 3 months is considered chronic. It is often progressive and the cause can be difficult to determine. Quick tips to a healthier back Following any period of prolonged inactivity, begin a program of regular low-impact exercises. Speed walking, swimming, or stationary bike riding 30 minutes a day can increase muscle strength and flexibility. Yoga can also help stretch and strengthen muscles and improve posture. Ask your physician or orthopedist for a list of low-impact exercises appropriate for your age and designed to strengthen lower back and abdominal muscles. • Always stretch before exercise or other strenuous physical activity. • Don't slouch when standing or sitting. When standing, keep your weight balanced on your feet. Your back supports weight most easily when curvature is reduced. • At home or work, make sure your work surface is at a comfortable height for you. • Sit in a chair with good lumbar support and proper position and height for the task. Keep your shoulders back. Switch sitting positions often and periodically walk around the office or gently stretch muscles to relieve tension. A pillow or rolled-up towel placed behind the small of your back can provide some lumbar support. If you must sit for a long period of time, rest your feet on a low stool or a stack of books. • Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes. • Sleep on your side to reduce any curve in your spine. Always sleep on a firm surface. • Ask for help when transferring an ill or injured family member from a reclining to a sitting position or when moving the patient from a chair to a bed. • Don't try to lift objects too heavy for you. Lift with your knees, pull in your stomach muscles, and keep your head down and in line with your straight back. Keep the object close to your body. Do not twist when lifting. • Maintain proper nutrition and diet to reduce and prevent excessive weight, especially weight around the waistline that taxes lower back muscles. A diet with sufficient daily intake of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin D helps to promote new bone growth. • If you smoke, quit. Smoking reduces blood flow to the lower spine and causes the spinal discs to degenerate. Here are 5 stretching exercises for lower back pain relief. Keep training Dr Saranjeet Singh (Sports Medicine Specialist)

If you make diet mistakes like avoiding carbohydrates altogether, or missing protein at a meal, or binge eating, you'll quickly start getting rolls of fat around your midsection. Once your diet is in check you must start focusing on your lower back strength through exercise. I show you four low back exercises that will not only help you develop the muscles more, but will help you to get rid of the pain that most men deal with at some point in their lives. Back pain is an extremely common problem. In fact, 9 out of 10 men will have some sort of lower back pain at some point in their lives. I can tell you, as a physical therapist that back pain comes from having a weak core, underdeveloped paraspinal and lumbar muscles and far too much fat around the waist. We already talked about how to lose fat around the waist, but without a dedicated effort to doing the right low back exercises you'll never tone this area enough to make it function properly. Perform 2-3 sets of each of the low back exercises shown in this video as an add-on to the workouts you're doing already. This can be done 1-2 times per week. Again, this won't do anything to help you lose the lower back fat though unless you work on that diet and nutrition. For a complete nutrition plan to help you lose all of your lower back fat and love handles, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com to get the complete ATHLEAN-X Training System. 7 Yoga Poses For Low Back Pain

05:50
Yoga For Low Back Pain: Celebrity Yoga instructor Kristin McGee walks through 7 yoga poses to help decrease tightness and relieve pain in your lower back. Full article: http://www.builtlean.com/2011/11/01/yoga-for-low-back-pain/ Transcript: MARK: Hi, I'm Mark Perry the creator of BuiltLean and today I'm joined by celebrity yoga instructor Kristin McGee who's to my left and this is our second segment in kind of a series, which is covering yoga for men. And so one of the biggest challenges I find men have is tight lower backs, and even experiencing pain in their lower backs. Specially in New York City, where a lot of people are kinda sitting at your desk all day, you know, a lot of people experience chronic pain even men and women. And so, we're gonna go through seven yoga poses to help decrease the tightness in your lower back. And with that said, I'm gonna hand it over to Kristin McGee. Kristin: thank you Mark. It's so true, so many people come to me and come to yoga looking for relief for the pain in their low backs. And, it's sitting at the desk all day shortens our hip flexors, weak abdominals can lead to lower back pain, stress in general, we just holding carry that tension in our lower back so this is not only 7 great poses you can do for your lower back, but also a little sequence you can do. so it's a really great way to kind of remember this and add these poses to you repertoire at the end of the day, you know, three or four times a week if you can and you'll really start to notice some difference. Now, of course check with your Dr. before you do anything, make sure you are not you know pushing yourself too hard, but I'll take Mark through this gentle Yoga plow, we start with the Boat Pose, he's gonna sit down on his hips and this is to strengthen your lower abdominals, particularly the transverse abdominals which is that deepest layer of lower abs. You can see he supported himself here with those lower abdominals. And that's like a girdle that supports your lower back and spine. You are gonna hold this for about five breaths, trying to breath in and out through your nose, and then he's gonna lower his legs down on the floor and sit up kinda straight out of your lower back, you can bend your knees if you need to, keep that same activity in your lower abs and start to hinge forward on your hips until a forward bend. So tight hamstrings can pull in the lower back. So here we're stretching the hamstring and the lower back. Again, hold each pose for maybe five to eight breaths really listen to that gentle breath through the nose, and exhale out the nose. Then come out and sit, and take a seated twist. His going to cross his right foot over his left knee, left over outside right knee, and turn to the right. So getting that mobility in the spine, really stretching and twisting such a great motion for the back, and then you can come forward and you're gonna repeat on the opposite leg. and then I'm gonna show you after the twist, a great way to open up your hips. And this is kind of a precursor to that, because already he's getting a little bit into his internal hips here. And come forward, and place that top ankle over the bottom knee. It's an ankle to knee pose. And you feel the stretching that outer right hip. This an ankle to knee pose, a really great way to get that pressure out of the hips which can really intensify low back pain. And then try the other side, and again, maybe 3-5 breaths eight breaths however long you can hold the pose and feel comfortable, and after you've done the external hip rotators, you're gonna move into the front of the hips, so now Marks gonna come around on all fours, and we'll start with some Cat Cow Pose. This is an excellent way to really warm up your back, inhale hard and arch to the ceiling. Look up and drop your hips, control it with your lower abs, specially if you have a lot of low back pain, and then round your back and hollow, and again only do it if it feels comfortable for you but you can do a few cycles, so now go back to the horse, way back horse, and then come to the angry cat. After a few rounds of that, just stretch your quads and your flexor, so step your right foot between you hands, release the toes and back, so you are on the top of the foot, and come up onto your finger tips or take your hands to your front knee, and it's gonna stretch out the hip flexors, the quads, all of that area that really gets tight and short when you're sitting at a desk all day long we'll repeat on the other side and finish up with a beautiful relaxing pose....

Signs Of Kidney Problems - Lower Back Pain And Other Symptoms Of Renal Trouble

03:34
You might not know much about your kidneys and what they do right now...so I'm going to tell you a few basic facts before I list some of the signs of kidney problems... As you can see from this video, your kidneys are two bean shaped organs that are located just a bit above your belt line on either side of your body... Each kidney has thousands of tiny tissues called nephrons that filter waste materials, toxins and excess fluids from your bloodstream. These are flushed out of your body in the form of urine. urine. Here's a list of the most typical signs of kidney problems that occur from a variety of possible disorders, which may include kidney stones, kidney infections, kidney cancer or kidney damage from some type of physical trauma, like a severe blow to the kidney area. These symptoms are also likely to show up if you have certain conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. Lower back pain is very often one of the first symptoms of kidney trouble. This back pain may be a mild, nagging ache, or it can be so severe it's actually debilitating. Another common indicator of a kidney disorder is discomfort during urination and urine that is discolored and cloudy or even tinged with blood. Keep in mind, however, these symptoms are also typical of a bladder infection, so it's important to see your doctor for a diagnosis. Most people with kidney trouble also find themselves heading for the bathroom more often than usual, even if little or no urine actually flows out. But this too can also just be a symptom of a bladder infection. Signs of more serious kidney problems like impending kidney failure, a kidney infection or kidney cancer can include: changes in blood pressure, muscle weakness, anemia, lethargy and sleepiness, loss of appetite, cognitive difficulties, stomach discomfort, general swelling, fever and chills, nausea and vomiting, breathlessness, night sweats, increased heart rate and unexplained weight loss. Signs of kidney problems shouldn't be ignored. When you experience one or more of the symptoms I've listed, consult your doctor as soon as you can.

Remedy 2: Fry 10 cloves of garlic in 60ml of oil should be prepared. This oil should then be vigorously applied on the back and left for three hours. This is one of the back pain remedies that will definitely give you great relief. Back Pain Relief Exercises & Stretches - Ask Doctor Jo

05:28
These back pain stretches and exercises are for general back pain like soreness from overworking your back or if you've pulled a muscle. If you know your specific back pain diagnosis, can check out the back pain section of my website for more specific exercises and stretches. See Doctor Jo’s blog post about this at: http://www.askdoctorjo.com/how-to-relieve-back-pain The first stretch is called the pelvic tilt. You will roll back onto your back with your knees bent. You want to imagine pushing your belly button into the ground, or push your back flat onto the ground like you are squishing something. You can put your hand under the curve of your back, and try to push your back into your hand. Make sure you are breathing and not holding your breath while doing these exercises. Next you will do a bridge. Push your bottom up off the ground, but try to do this slowly, and do one segment of your back at a time curling upward. Then slowly go down the same way, one segment at a time. Now you will do a single knee to chest stretch, bend one knee and bring your leg up to your chest as far as you comfortably can. Hold this for 30 seconds and do it three times on each side. Next, bring both knees to your chest, and hold it for 30 seconds doing it three times. This is called a double knee to chest stretch. Then try some gentle trunk rotation stretches on your back with your knees bent in hooklying. Gently rotate your bent legs from side to side. You can hold them on each side for 3-5 seconds or you can continuously rotate them back and forth. Again, try to keep your lower back on the ground. You can start off with 10 and work your way up to 20-25. The next stretch is the prayer stretch. Bring your butt back onto your heels, and keep your arms straight out. Relax your head down to the ground. Hold it for 30 seconds, and do it three times. Finally, you will do a combination move where you start in a plank position, and go into an upward dog yoga position. Hold that for 3-5 seconds, and then make a smooth transition into a downward dog position. You can go through this motion 3-5 times. 06:28
Sex and Back Pain is a very common condition in our society. Millions of people are faced with lower back pain yearly. Injuries and accidents can cause herniated discs, bulging discs, pinched nerves and sciatica, and can be debilitating. Communication is the most important quality that couples need to do with eachother. Sex is more about sensuality than sexuality. I discuss the biomechanics of the lower spine and explain how the muscles and nerves can become less irritated by learning how to be in the proper positions. I hope you find this video educating. Lower Back Pain Left Side -- Lower Back Pain Left Side Only

These factors do confer advantages but unfortunately have at the same time introduced serious weaknesses which do result in back pain. Factor 1. Man, by virtue of his evolution from being a four-legged animal to a two-legged and upright one has imparted weaknesses on the body especially in the lower back region. Any mishap there often results in back-pain. Factor 2. Man is bilaterally symmetrical. That means that s/he has a body form that is divided into matching equal right/left halves. We can get to this symmetry by drawing an imaginary line from head to toes. This would result in the right half being the mirror image of the left. The salient point here is that this factor has again introduced weaknesses.A good example of the effects of this symmetry will suffice here and it goes like this: This inequality in the spine-body parts creates pressure which when applied on the spine causes strain. This results in back pain. For proper functioning of the body, an equilibrium must be maintained between the two sides. Any interference of that equilibrium results in lower back pain. As stated above, most of us will suffer from back-pain at some time of our lives. We do suffer from lumbago which is one of the most common and painful back-ache conditions. Over-exertion of the body causes lumbago, and so does poor posture when both standing and sitting and also when lifting heavy objects improperly. It is very important that if you do suffer from such pain that you do know what you can do to ease the aches. 1. Anti- inflammatory medication is used to lower the swelling of the affected muscles. Reducing the swelling results in the reduction of the pain. 2. Injecting the affected area with cortisone and the use of electrical stimulation therapy are common treatments. 3. Exercise: You must do this for the relief of long-term pain. 4. Back stretches: When you do these, you will strengthen your lower back muscles. You must avoid any movement that puts undue pressure on the lower back and joints. 5. Hot and cold treatments: Use ice and hot packs alternately to apply heat and cold to the affected area. What now follows are treatment that you can do at home. Home remedies. It is necessary to point out that such remedies only help you to manage the pain and are not cures for the condition. i. Celery and potatoes. Both of those foods are good at preventing and managing back pain. ii. Ayurveda: According to Ayurvedic principles, gas is one of the major causes of pain. The remedy here is to use raw garlic to help to expel gas. iii. Massage: You must massage the affected area with a mixture of vegetable oil and garlic. iv. Sleeping arrangements: Use a comfortable mattress to sleep on. v. Sitting arrangements: If your job involves sitting for extended periods of time, you must use a comfortable chair that accommodates the natural curves of your spine What I tried to give you are some of the many treatments that are available both within the world of medicine and your home. Little things like adopting good postures when sitting and standing and even when lifting objects are practices that you must always use. You must also practice regular exercise and eating healthily. Putting many of those practices into force would go very far towards ensuring that you do live a comfortable and pain-free or pain-controlled life. Do you need a helping hand at controlling your back pain? I can certainly help. My name is Mac Moore. I am an Internet marketer and Researcher of Health Issues.
