1/4 of a century ago, on October 1, 1992, as The Star Spangled Banner played, and the flag was raised, a TV channel was born, dedicated to broadcasting animated programs, thus given the name Cartoon Network. 25 years later, we are all celebrating the many different types of shows that Cartoon Network has given us, whether it was from the mid-to-late 90s, early 2000s, or late 2010's.
It was the first 24/7 channel based primarily on cartoons, and there were cartoons great and small, and we celebrate cartoons one and all. Whether it be from Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, Cartoon Planet, CN City, Powerhouse, Noods, Check It, CN Real (the era that made the channel's name moot) or CN Saying, Cartoon Network has come a long way with many different blocks, original shows, marketing, and, of course, different cartoons.
It had its ups and downs (considering nowadays, a LOT of downs), some good shows and some bad shows (especially the reboots), and a lot of Internet controversies surrounding their reboots or their current scheduling. Sure, we can all agree that CN is not as enjoyable as it used to be, but just because Cartoon Network has a bad reputation doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a good celebration.
So, in honor of Cartoon Network's Big Milestone, I have made a big compilation of nearly every single animated series ever shown on Cartoon Network (not counting any live-action shows, because they make the channel's name moot. That means no Destroy Build Destory, Hole in the Wall, Dude What Would Happen, or Incredible Crew) And yes, I even included Teen Titans GO!, The Powerpuff Girls 2016, and Ben 10 2017, because whether or not you hate it, it's still part of Cartoon Network. From The Moxy Show to OK KO, Cartoon Network really came a long way, and I want to celebrate Cartoon Network's Big Milestone, because out of all the channels I've watched, Cartoon Network is the childhood channel I grew up with the most.
Happy 25th Birthday, Cartoon Network!
