WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!
Part 6 - We start our journey in front of the Seahaven tavern, checking our adventure journal for notes on things to come. We decide to follow up with our old quest given by Inquisitor Heame, and find out what Lord Haart has been up to, all these nights he's been sneaking out of Seahaven. We wait till the night falls and then check in with the town's gate guard who tells us Haart just left heading west into the Yon-Chall woods.
We follow through towards the west, ultimately finding Haart in a cave, spending some quality time with his secret elf wife Lirdan (10:26) (quest: Haart has Its Reasons), who's been helping him find the brigands hideout. Now that we know Haart is not up to anything bad, we decide that the Inquisitor doesn't need to know about Haart's private affairs, and we only report half the truth (15:21).
We leave Seahaven and heads into the nearby woods to some more exploring, and after dispatching a good number of Minotaurs, we find another riddle-locked treasure chest (darkness 26:50).
Deeper inside the forest, we meet alchemist Nahla (52:00) who agrees to join our party, where she will provide us her potion brewing services. We still need to pay for them, but beeing able to restock on potions anytime, anywhere will greatly benefit us.
A bit further on and many orc skulls bashed later, we find another dangerous cave (1:08:38) where we defeat Tuco the brave (yet not very bright) orc, and pick up some sweet treasure and a lore book.
The gates of The Crag (1:18:15)... We take the time to visit stores and talk to locals. It is here where we stumble upon Kirk (1:21:48) one of the three rogues that Crusader Eileen from Sorpigal has us hunting down (quest: Lost Lambs). We already regret having to kill Luke, and now Kirk who seams to be a nice guy... but there's no turning back now, we've have a job to do and we'll follow through.
In the Crag's fort (1:28:07), we meet Ciele and Crag Hack, the pirate "king" himself. We deliver Morgan's letter (quest: Pirate Truce) and Crag agrees to stop causing trouble on the coast. We also learn that Crag Hack is Jon Morgan's father (which Morgan is not really fond of). Ciele tells us that Crag is sick, cursed by The Nethermancer, and that they were unable to heal him. We agree to help Crag and Ciele find a cure (quest: The Curse), and they sent us on to locate Kaspar, a travelling physician and necromancer who happens to be in Karthal.
Leaving the Crag, we find the Fortress of Crows (2:01:11), ruins of old city-kingdom Volos. Melanthe, a beautiful woman blocks our way, but tells us the tragic story of the place. Just outside, we meet The Wanderer (2:03:42) who gives us a pendant to deliver it to someone inside. We go back in, this time as Melanthe sees the pendant she offers us riches in exchange for the pendant and us leaving. Being a honorable bunch, we politely decline. Visibly disturbed, Melanthe teleports away and leaves us with a deadly warning and a clear path ahead...
After getting our asses kicked, we decided it's best to strategically retreat (run away scared) from Volos for the time being, and come back later (much later) when w're strong enough to face what lurks in these ruins.
Later, we head into Skull Rock caves (2:17:00) and after clearing the first level, we find ourselves unable to continue as we don't know the password for the lower levels. Very well, moving on...
As we enter the Karthal Sewers, we meet Zouleika (2:47:45) (quest: Morgan's Informant) who tells us her father, Ambassador Falgar, is Morgan's informant and that she is unable to get back into the city as the black guards have filled the sewers with dangerous creatures.
Fighting our way through the sewers we enter Falagar's Mansion where we find (3:06:20) Ripley. He tells us the ambasador was taken into custody. As it happens Ripley, is the last of the three rogues Crusader Eileen has us looking for, and he reveals that she is their mother. Too late now, we already killed the other two, with remorse, might as well get the job done. Ripley puts up a hopless fight...
After figuring out a few hidden doors and levers, we move to clear the upper level of the mansion, but despite our best efforts we are forced to leave a bit frustrated as we cannot seam to gain access to a final secret room.
As we exit the mansion, into Karthal, we find Dunstan (3:40:06), the same guy who we met in Sorpigal. He informs us that Karthal is no longer under lockdown and that Markus Wolf "officially" took over Karthal and proclaimed himself Duke Markus. Well, at least now we won't have to go through those filthy sewers anymore...
To be continued in part 7...
