http://www.crmjewelers.com – Rolex Submariner Ceramic – What Makes it So Special?
The Rolex Submariner is one most famous luxury watches in the world!
This review is on the new ceramic Submariner model.
The new Submariner is more expensive than the older version because it comes with the new Maxi case, which has wider lugs and larger crown guards. It also sports a new, ceramic bezel, which is more resistant to scratching.
Even though the diameter of the new Rolex Submariner is the same size as that of the older model, 40mm, it tends to give the watch a bit of a bigger look. The indicators on the dial of the watch are also bigger. The bracelet design too is a bit different.
The new Submariner comes with a glidelock clasp, which is completely superior to the prior clasp designs.
The new Subs come in stainless steel, two-tone, white gold, and all (yellow) gold.
This watch is one of the most versatile watches around. Even though it is a traditionally an outdoor/diver's watch, it can be worn on any occasion and still look good!
It is a great watch for the outdoors because of its strong, industrial-like design, which I love. It is a definitely a watch you can wear out on the boat and still have the peace of mind that it won't fall apart if you bang it up.
The stainless steel Submariners come with either a green dial (known as the Submariner Hulk) or the more traditional black dial.
The two-tone Rolex Submariner and the gold model come with either a Sunburst blue or the traditional black dial. The blue dial is my personal favorite.
Even though the Rolex Deepsea and Sea-Dweller are more diehard, underwater models than the Submariner, the Sub is definitely a diving contender. On new models, you can even put the watch underwater with an open crown and water still won't get inside. Obviously you won't be able to take the watch to lower depths in this state, but the triple crown seal will definitely protect it if you submerge it by mistake with the crown unscrewed.
Prices for the Rolex Submariner
You can pick up a pre-owned stainless steel Sub with a black dial from about $6,000 to around $7,000. There isn't much of a discount on the stainless steel models. The Submariner Hulk is a bit more expensive at about $8,000 for pre-owned stainless.
The two-tone Submariner can cost anywhere from around $10,200 to $10,500 for the blue models. Yellow gold Rolex Subs can be as high as $24,500 preowned.
If you are looking for a brand new stainless or two-tone Submariner, you can expect to pay a minimum of $1,000 above the above stated prices. For an all-gold Sub, expect to pay a few thousand dollars more for a new one.
The Submariner and the Watch Game
When it comes to the ceramic Submariner, the watch earns high ranks in the Watch Game.
No matter where in the world you are, everybody will know what you have on. If what you want is attention, the Submariner will deliver plenty of it for you! There's a reason why the Rolex Submariner is the most counterfeited watch out there.
Because of its notoriety, the Submariner is a watch that every watch collector or fan should own at least once in their life!
