Well, it takes a lot of time and significant energy to build and optimize a distribution channel. And we have to consider several factors that will influence our decision. The best distribution channel is the one that: Delivers a product that customers want. Delivers a product where customers want it. And allows customers to have the product at the right time. A product must be positioned where its target customers are likely to find it. A great-looking store, with prepared sales personnel, and optimal product placing can have a huge impact on sales. Great distribution channels deliver products at the right time. Nobody likes it when an item is out of stock or when there is a long waiting period for its delivery. Companies want to be efficient with the inventory they keep as it represents a cost. An optimized logistics flow can be beneficial for both customers and producers.

Metallurgy is a field covering hundreds of different methods – metals have to be heated, tempered, and cooled at the right levels for the specific job they’re required in, and a piece of steel will be treated differently depending on whether it’ll become part of a structural pillar in an apartment building, or an integral part of a jet turbine. For the more complex and precise pieces of metal in industrial equipment, the best and oldest method in use is investment casting. What Is Investment Casting? An investment casting job begins in the hands of a specialized artist. Made from wax, wood, plastic or another material, the artist makes the final metal piece’s master pattern – that is, a pattern of the mold that the metal will have to ultimately occupy. Then, the first mold is made, called the master die. This is done by casting a molding material into the master pattern, using rubber or foam. Alternatively, a pattern is created using modern 3D printing methods, as 3D Printing Industry reported with German company Voxeljet. The next step is the production of the wax pattern. Traditionally, this is done with molten beeswax – but given modern methods, plastic and frozen mercury are common alternatives. Usually, the wax pattern is made by pouring the molten material into the master die and swishing it around until an even coating of roughly three millimeters is produced. Investing the Wax If the end result is meant to be a complex branch of patterns fixed into one metal piece, then several master dies would be used to create separate wax patterns, which then have to be meticulously assembled. Wax patterns can then be melded together through a heating tool, since the materials used to make wax patterns generally have a low melting point. The finished cluster is taken to a silicate or ceramic mixture of some sort, and dipped in to coat it several times over. This mixture, called the refractory, creates a smooth and even coating all around. According to the American Foundry Society, the average thickness of the ceramic coating should be roughly 9.5 millimeters. This is the final process for the creation of the mold, and after a lengthy drying period of up two days, the coated cluster is placed in a furnace to burn out or melt the wax and leave behind only the ceramic. The investment mold is then heated, and the metal is poured into it. The final product is then hammered to remove the ceramic mold, and subjected to rigorous grinding to remove traces of the casting. Why "Investment"? Although it sounds misleading, an investment cast is specifically called that because the archaic definition of investment is to invest, or submerge/pour something – specifically, the wax cluster and the ceramic refractory material. When Should You Ask for Investment Casting? Investment casting is specifically necessary for complex machinery – engine parts, turbine parts, specialized gears and the like. The identification of optimal product and package designs is challenged when attributes and their levels interact. Firms recognize this by testing trial products and designs prior to launch where the effects of interactions are revealed. A difficulty in conducting analysis for product design is dealing with the high dimensionality of the design space and the selection of promising product configurations for testing. We propose an experimental criterion for efficiently testing product profiles with high demand potential in sequential experiments. The criterion is based on the expected improvement in market share of a design beyond the current best alternative. We also incorporate a stochastic search variable selection method to selectively estimate relevant interactions among the attributes. A validation experiment confirms that our proposed method leads to improved design concepts in a high-dimensional space compared to alternative methods.

Digital distribution (also called content delivery, online distribution, or electronic software distribution (ESD), among others) is the delivery or distribution of media content such as audio, video, software and video games. The term is generally used to describe distribution over an online delivery medium, such as the Internet, thus bypassing physical distribution methods, such as paper, compact discs, and VHS videocassettes. The term online distribution is typically applied to freestanding products; downloadable add-ons for other products are more commonly known as downloadable content. With the advancement of network bandwidth capabilities, online distribution became prominent in the 21st century. Content distributed online may be streamed or downloaded, and often consists of books, films and television programs, music, software, and video games. Streaming involves downloading and using content at a user's request, or "on-demand", rather than allowing a user to store it permanently. By contrast, fully downloading content to a hard drive or other form of storage media may allow offline access in the future. Specialist networks known as content delivery networks help distribute content over the Internet by ensuring both high availability and high performance. Alternative technologies for content delivery include peer-to-peer file sharing technologies. Alternatively, content delivery platforms create and syndicate content remotely, acting like hosted content management systems. However, the term is also used in film distribution to describe distribution of content through physical media, in opposition to distribution by analog media such as photographic film and magnetic tape (see Digital cinema).

And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. However, pricing decisions inconsistent with a firm’s competitive strategy can be dangerous, which is why companies should address the topic with much caution and attention. There are three important components we need to distinguish in this process. The amount a product costs to be produced, the price customers pay to buy the product, and the value they acquire from the product. If a company aims at cost leadership, then the focus will be costs (trying to keep them as low as possible). The company must offer a price slightly lower than the one offered by competitors. Conversely, if a firm’s strategy is differentiation, then the critical factor will be the value delivered to customers. Costs are not that important, as companies offering a differentiated product can charge more. So, pricing must be coherent with competitive strategy, although sometimes it is tempting to adjust prices to stimulate short-term gains of market share and increases of sales. Top-level managers have to stay focused on the big picture and make coherent decisions in line with the firm’s long-term strategy.

E-commerce millionaires, Dan and Eric, have used this model to make over $16 million dollars alone on Amazon. The best part? They were able to do all of this: WITHOUT paid ads WITHOUT creating a product WITHOUT dealing with customer service WITHOUT a website or email list To do this, they use a simple 3-step system called “Reverse Wholesale”. Here’s how it works: STEP 1: LOCATE HIGH-PROFIT, HIGH POTENTIAL BRANDED PRODUCTS ON AMAZON This step involves looking for branded products on Amazon that have a HUGE buyer demand, but very bad listings. In essence, your aim is to “refurbish” a product that is ALREADY proven to sell well. By refurbish, we mean improving its images, product title, product description and also features and benefits. When a product that everyone is buying has a poor listing, you now have the opportunity to improve this listing - and make even MORE sales. STEP 2: CREATE A WHOLESALE ACCOUNT The next step is to ask to open a Wholesale Account with the manufacturer of the product you have identified. You do this to gain access to their Wholesale distributor so that you can buy the product at discounted rates and sell them for a profit. However, there is a slight catch: Manufacturers don’t just accept anybody. That’s why you use Dan’s secret method. Instead of trying to lie your way through to opening an account, you take a different approach. You NEGOTIATE. You say, “Hey, I’ll come in, edit your listing and MASSIVELY increase your sales. In exchange, we’ll make a contract, we’ll make a deal. My business, my company, gets the right to buy these products direct from your manufacturer, at wholesale, discounted rates. I will then send these items into Amazon for you, and I will “manage” your listing and grow your sales.” This is a deal that’s hard to turn down. At the end of the day, it is a win-win situation. For you: You get DIRECT access to the manufacturers instead of having to go through the distributor. This means that you can buy items from them in bulk at a MASSIVE discount, allowing you to make more profits on the items you sell! For them: More money! Considering this is a long-term deal, you’re going to make them A LOT more money since you’ll be regularly buying their items in bulk. (Who wouldn’t want that?!) STEP 3: OPTIMIZE THE LISTING, PURCHASE THE PRODUCTS AND MAKE MONEY! The final step involves editing their listing to make it even better. Adding better photos. Adding a great title. Adding a great description - and greatly increasing the conversions and sales. You then buy the product you want to sell at wholesale, discounted rates, then ship them into one of Amazon’s FBA warehouses. Amazon’s FBA warehouses are incredible. They store these items for you. When a customer purchases your item, Amazon will pick, pack and ship this item off to your customer - without you having to even lift a finger. This means you don’t have to do ANY of the heavy lifting. At this point it’s basically a passive source of income. All you have to do is order new products when inventory gets low. It’s upfront work for long-term rewards!

The panelists agreed that there is a place for limited distribution, such as for rare or orphan diseases, for products with complicated risk evaluation and mitigation strategy programs, or when detailed inventory reports are needed due to the costs of manufacturing. Karalis predicts that patient care could become increasingly complicated, especially in the oncology setting, where there is the potential for a single patient to be prescribed more than one medicine that is in limited distribution, which may mean having to deal with multiple specialty pharmacies at a time. Allen noted that specialty pharmacies, as providers of these limited distribution products, may be able to facilitate the integration of the different players involved in the patient’s treatment network. Ness, however, pointed out that not all specialty pharmacies excel at this task. Right? Still, the older models of releasing an album are falling by the wayside. Release methods that are going to be most effective for selling your music online or physically, today's independent music distribution is all about keeping the interest with fresh content and not overwhelming, spamming or continuing to push the same product over and over and over and over again. The logistic function can be used to transform a credit score into a probability of default (PD). The advantages of the logistic are (i) it easy to calculate and (ii) as a cumulative distribution function (CDF) the output is, appropriately, a probability between 0 and 1.0. In this video, I show two approaches to the exponent, which itself is the negative of a product of vectors (-b*x). First, the two-factor linear probability model that produces a "credit score;" the credit score is then transformed into a PD. Second, an illustrated usage which starts with "internal credit ratings" from 0 to 100, with 100 representing perfect credit quality; in this case, the internal credit rating is adjusted to a scale usable to the logistic, then the logistic function is again used to compute a PD.
