Inflatable Kayak SE-370 by Sea Eagle | Product Review | Portable & Lightweight Inflatable Kayak
Inflatable Kayak SE-370 "Pro Pacakge" by Sea Eagle | Product Review | Portable & Lightweight Inflatable Kayak for Travel & Easy Storage. The Sea Eagle 370 collapses & packs down to a fraction of its size for mobility & storage. This model can hold 3 people or 650lbs. It inflates to 12.5 feet long and weighs 30-40 pounds. The Pro Package comes with: - 2 inflatable movable seats (Deluxe seats version) - 2 collapsible paddles - Foot pump to inflate the kayak - Repair kit - Pressure gauge/monitor - Carry bag with shoulder strap Sea Eagle 370 Pro Package (with the Deluxe Seats): http://amzn.to/2mOmeYo Sea Eagle 330 Pro Solo Package (1-person version of kayak): http://amzn.to/2mZUQXO Electric Motor to assist with inflation: http://amzn.to/2mt6rvq The Sea Eagle 370 Inflatable Kayak has 3 Chambers - the floor, and two side chambers. It has 5 one-way valves - 3 for the main chambers and then one for each of the spray skirts. The material of the hull is sun and saltwater resistant. It is thick and strong, but still soft to the touch. Lots of people take their dogs kayaking in these inflatable kayaks and it holds up to their claws. Two skegs molded plastic skegs on the bottom provide better tracking and speed than some other inflatable kayaks. The floor is think and rigidty, using Sea Eagle's "I-Beam Construction." The Deluxe seats each have two inflation chambers. The Deluxe seats vs. the normal seats have a different shape that helps with more back support as well as 5 inches of lift off the bottom of the kayak. They have adjustable straps to help with adjusting the support level, a durable covering, and a storage pouch in the back of the seat. To setup the inflatable kayak, use the foot pump in the one-way valves. It takes about 10 mins to inflate the kayak this way, and the process can be sped along with another foot pump (& second person) or an electric pump. We like to use a battery-powered mattress pump to speed the process (See http://amzn.to/2mt6rvq). Deflation is also very easy; just unscrew the valves and start folding & rolling the kayak up to push out the remaining air. Our Thoughts: We have had this inflatable kayak for 6 months & we have really liked it. From a convenience standpoint, we love how it can easily be stored in our RV storage area and moved in our vehicle. It is super easy to set up, and we can be on the water in just a few minutes. It inflates and deflates quickly, and the size & weight make it easy for us to bring places. However, it is heavy and bulky enough that you're not going to want to bring it backpacking 3 miles to your kayaking destination. Once inflated, it is very easy to carry with two people using the ropes along the spray skirts. Performance-wise, it doesn't feel like a toy. It tracks pretty well with the skegs, and inflatable kayaks tend not to do this. It does sit up out of the water more than a regular hard-sided kayak and is lighter, so it is more susceptible to being pushed by the wind. It is not as fast or maneuverable as a hard-sided kayak, but it isn't terrible. It is pretty stable on the water and so far has held up to being dragged over rocky shorelines and stepped in without any signs of damage. From a comfort standpoint, the Deluxe seats are definitely better for back support. The kayak can however be a little cramped for long-legged people. It says it can hold 3 people but honestly you'd be a little tight. There are no clips for the seats so they can shift a bit while you are paddling, but this hasn't been a big issue for us. The only issue we have had is the valves for the 3 main chambers can crush each other when rolled up & stored which can cause indents in the plastic seal. These can be taken out pretty easily by warming the plastic with a hair dryer and rubbing out the dents, but that's not super convenient if you're already at the lake and ready to go. But this is pretty minor. Thanks for tuning in to Road Gear Reviews! Gear Up For Your Adventures every week right here! Photographing White Tailed Sea Eagles on the Island of Mull
VLOG 8 - Han heads out to photograph White Tailed Sea Eagles on the Mull Charters boat then heads to Arle Lodge B&B for a cuppa. Hannah Morris photography: www.hannah-morris.com To see more of Hannah's Sea Eagle photos go to: https://www.facebook.com/pg/hannahmorrisphotography/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1479283538802168 Book your boat trip: www.mullcharters.com Book your stay at Arle Lodge: https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/arle-lodge.en-gb.html The white-tailed eagle is the largest UK bird of prey, it can have up to a 8ft wingspan. It has brown body plumage with a pale head and neck which can be almost white in older birds, and the tail feathers of adults are white. In flight it has massive long, broad wings with 'fingered' ends. Its head protrudes and it has a short, wedge-shaped tail. It went extinct in the UK during the early 20th century, due to illegal killing, and the present population has been reintroduced. Kuantan River - Sea eagles and a rare lesser adjutant stork
I shot the actual footage for this back in 2012, with a 720p point and shoot camera (sadly all I had with me on the day) so the quality is not great and it's a bit jumpy. But I was so thrilled to see the white-bellied sea eagles and a lesser adjutant - one of the rarest storks in the world, that I had to put the clips together, rather belatedly, into a coherent video. There are reckoned to be only 200 lesser adjutants storks in Malaysia (in 2016). I really wish I could have stopped the boat and watched it some more. I will have to go back!

Trollfjord Sea Eagles Safari from Svolvaer city - Lofoten Islands of Norway
In this video I show my experience seeing Sea Eagles and Trollfjord with Lofoten-rafting.no. We left Svolvaer on board of a powerful raft leading to the beautiful and famous Trollfjord (link below for the story). We were hoping to see some eagles and we saw some of them almost immediately, but they were very far and they did not want to come over to eat our fish. Then we decided to move on to see the Fjord, the landscape was so beautiful with the reflections in the water, but it was also very cold. Later on the way back to Svolvaer we made a little detour to another spot and finally we were able to attract the eagles near us. I also was lucky enough to take some pictures of these beautiful predators, and you can see some pictures at the end of the video Trollfjord wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trollfjord Music: Ready and Waiting from danosongs.com

Sea eagles diving for food in the Trollfjord, Norway
This was a wonderful opportunity to see sea eagles close up. They gather in the sky and then dive down to pick up fish on the surface of the water. As you see, the fish are blown up with air so they float on the surface for a little longer. Almost as exciting is the transfer to the little fishing boat, Orca, as it runs alongside the large Hurtigruten boat, MS Richard With, on which we were travelling. As you might guess from the video, it was several degrees below freezing, the wind was often strong enough to almost lift you off your feet and the sea soon became very rough. But that only adds to the sense of adventure...

Eagle Rescue 101....The Basics....thumbs and all... Águila de rescate 101 / Sauvetage Aigle 101
While fishing off Nanoose Bay, BC, I happened upon a fledgling Bald Eagle "floundering" in the water. The video documents his welcome aboard...aborted mutiny, and transport back to dry land. ***Update – September 26, 2014.......Upon reaching land, He was picked up by Lorinne Anderson of Wild A.I.D. and it was discovered that this guy was seriously underweight and in need of medical attention. He is presently in the care of the good people at O.W.L. Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society in Delta, B.C. and we are all hopeful for a successful recovery and release back to the wild. He…(14-368 as they call him).. will be taken back to the area he was discovered, near Nanoose Bay for release when he is ready. If you feel you would like to donate to O.W.L. to help my little buddy and assist them in their good work you can find their contact information on their website at http://www.owlcanada.org/ ***Update – September 27, 2014.....Went to see 14-368 and he's been eating well for 4-5 days and things are looking better day by day. Hats off to the good people at O.W.L for their great work. ***Update - October 20, 2014....according to the people at O.W.L., "Nanoose" is getting pretty feisty and snapping at his handlers quite a bit....sounds like a good sign for a "wild" eagle...!! ***Update - October 30, 2014....."Nanoose" is now over 4 kilos and off all meds.... but a bit of a discerning eater. According to the good people at O.W.L. today fresh duck is the entree du jour, and she has developed a penchant for soaking her bedding in her water dish and playing in the water.....go figure.... ;-) ***Update - November 3, 2014.....I spoke to Mindy Dick at O.W.L. and got the OK to go over and video some of Nanoose's "rehab" fairly soon......so keep an eye out here for a link to that video..... ***Update - November 13, 2014.....Just checked in with Nanoose's caretakers at O.W.L. and there have been a couple of hiccups over the last week or so, but still looking to let her loose in the flight area in the near future....at which time I hope be able to get some video to share............. ***Update - November 26, 2014.....O.W.L. reports that Nanoose has graduated to a larger cage with a couple of older birds who they hope will teach her a bit about the ins and outs of "eagling".............looking good.....!!! ***Update - December 4, 2014.....O.W.L. has posted a bit of video of "Nanoose" getting in some flying time on their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/OWL-Orphaned-Wildlife-Rehabilitation-Society/311582845544617 planning on a visit soon to shoot a little more to post here ***Update - December 18, 2014 - According to the good people at O.W.L. Nanoose had a bit of a digestive problem, but they're hoping it was just a transient issue, and he/she (still up in the air....)...is on the road to recovery. ***Update - January 15, 2015 - Not much change according to Mindy at O.W.L. Still monitoring Nanoose's eating habits and keeping fingers crossed. Word is he/she is still feisty and protective of food, but a little ambivalent about actually eating it at times. ***Update - February 6, 2015 - As of today, Nanoose is back on medication for a gastric infection that seems to be a bit persistent. O.W.L is hoping to get on top of it and get things back on track for recovery and release. Fingers crossed......!!! ***Update - February 10, 2015 - Stopped by O.W.L. to see Nanoose today and she was looking a little "disheveled". As O.W.L. manager Mindy explained it, this is due to her being quite enamored with splashing around in her water dish.....to the point they've hung her with the pet name "Swimmer". One would think that with her previous history she might be a little averse to the water, but good to see there hasn't been any lasting psychological impact. O.W.L. has her on a new antibiotic regimen in hopes of getting on top of the persistent bug she's been battling and are keeping a close eye on things. Keep up the good work guys.....!!! ***Update - March 5, 2015 - Got the sad news this morning that yesterday "Nanoose" had succumbed to whatever the ailment was she was suffering from. Mindy, Martina, Dina and all the staff at O.W.L. did their utmost to heal her during the 6 months she was with them, and they should be proud of the work they did....and continue to do. Also, many thanks to Lorinne and Norm of Wild Aid for facilitating her transport to O.W.L. .......RIP Nanoose....fly free....!!! .....if you feel inclined to help out O.W.L. with the good work they do, their contact information is on their website at www.owlcanada.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To use this video in a commercial player, advertising or in broadcasts, please email Viral Spiral: [email protected]

Sea Eagle Safari at Svolvaer, Lofoten Islands
From http://www.motorhomeplanet.co.uk - Sea eagle spotting on a Sea Eagle Safari boat trip from Svolvaer, on the island of Austvagoya in the Lofoten Islands. The area is home to many sea eagles, offering great opportunities to observe and photograph these magnificent birds. Sadly, the tour operators have realised that they can create more of a spectacle by feeding the birds fresh fish, often several times a day. This brings the eagles very close to the boats in 'hunting mode' - but interfering with wild animal's hunting habits in this way doesn't seem right.

Skye, Where Eagles Fly
On a recent vacation in Scotland, I was able to capture footage of Golden Eagles & Sea Eagles. This young Buzzard was hunting so close, I could almost hear the wind in its feathers. Normally only seen at a distance, the bird hunted small prey as if I wasn't there, giving me these amazing pictures. Then the following day, I took a short boat trip from Portree Harbour and captured some more amazing footage. This time, of Sea Eagles etc. I cant recomend this trip enough and you 'dont pay the ferryman' if you dont see the eagles. On the trip you will most likely see leaping salmon, seals and variety of sea birds.

My Cats Hanging Out with the Eagles
WARNING: Loud eagle screams so turn down volume or don't have on headphones! I had gone on a short errand and when I came home I found the cats hanging out with these 2 eagles. During the summer these same two eagles hang out on my porch about every day like it is their own private perch. They also have claim to the lamp post across the street from my house. I just happened to have my FlipVideo on me so I thought I would take a short video to show everyone that the eagles have no interest in eating my cats. The cats sometimes look at the eagles like they would love to catch that big bird but the cats know they don't stand a chance to even try. Look at the video of Suitcase getting slapped by the eagle(that was the last time he tried to catch one). I have also been trying to figure out which eagle is the female and which is the male and I think the braver one that never flies away is the female and the smaller, more scared one is the male. They sit on the porch rail and watch me in my kitchen for hours! I love the sounds they make!
