PoE 3.1 - Testing Life Gained on Spell Hit and CWDT.

At 3:10 I turn off Vitality just for comparison - its basically instant death. Testing the watchers eye, I been trying to find new ways to use these, since they offer some interesting options that havent been in the game before - I first tried "Gain energy shield on hit" with Discipline, and its great, but then I wanted to try to use that on a build that really needs it, and Mines and Totem builds come to mind, because they tend to have no recovery options other then awful nodes / shield, or specing into a ton of life regen - so that seemed like a great place to start. Watchers Eye + Vitality (life gained on hit) and a simple cast when damage taken set up of GMP, and ball lightning worked good - its not amazing, just good, see if you take a large hit, you still die, or if you only hit 1 mob, you barely feel the life gained on hit, so its not a be all / end all solution, just another layer of defense for builds that dont tend to have much in the way of recovery options. I think you could do this same thing with a shaped ring with "life gained per spell hit", or maybe even that old claw people use to use for Incinerate builds (but that would really suck for your DPS) If your interested in my GC mine build, I will have a vid on it in a few days, still trying some new things with it, since I feel like Mine builds have kind of gotten pigeon holed with Mind Over Matter, I tried to think of a alternative way to play one.

For single target you would want at least +3 staff instead. Can be done with any spell that actually does hit but the higher average damage the easier is to stun. Very end of Abyss league but cheap enough for new league start with couple tweaks. Eye of Innocence, 2x Razor of the Seventh Sun, and tons of CwDT links (only 3 for now). This is not the final form. Currently MoM instead of auras because I don't have enough links for auras. Instant mana flask might theoretically provide for more eHP against well-telegraphed, but non-dodgeable shots. No ascendancies done yet, but I'll take Elementalist + something else. I was originally considering Hierophant for 2nd, but my mana pool already deletes itself instantly. Elreon ring + low level Scorching Ray allows for a nice Cast when Channeling link for some additional higher level utility spells. Probably considering Deadeye (for more projectiles) or Chieftain (for Ash) as 2nd ascendancy, but neither gives me much. The idea is: lay mines, all CWDT goes off, making lots o corpses to VD, and a few other effects, buffs, and curses, and mines detonate without hitting any other buttons. Neat-o! Also it seems to obliterate bosses, and clears maps comfortably, on a stupid cheap budget i spent just over 1 ex, but that was really buffing it up! I screwed up on my Red Elder (died and afk'd, forgetting Shaper would die if i didn't come back right away... doh!), and I don't have enough time to try it again. Here i am taking 1000 damage per weapon swap, and only 500 is neaded for the CWDT, so its 500 waste damage per swap, on an increadibly in-efficient build for this setup, and i am still just about breaking even, with a more focused setup you could easily be gaining thousand of ES each swap, or cast or whatever your setup! :)

Very tanky, below t16 map is very easy except core, yet map clear speed is mediocre sometimes awful with temple and syndicate, already finished uber elder and uber atziri but cannot fully tank. Very laggy if you met a lot of undead mobs especially totems and delve walking.

If you still want fortify with flame dash, you can use SC - Fort or Vigilant Strike + Faster atks + Ancestral Call with the Vigilant Strike jewel for long fort duration. With that, you should also drop the insanity gloves/brightbeak. An alternative that I tried at the start of last league was dual wielding damage sceptre + brightbeak and using leap slam instead of flame dash. It worked alright. Tree-wise you can use the same tree I used or go further into templar for some more life/resists. http://poeurl.com/caxA Going deeper into templar or down from phase acro is kind of up to you. You'll want Herbalism or Devotion one way or another to get some more life nodes. You can also drop detonate mines from CWDT and use cold snap. The 4l for totem is entirely QOL, since you can just smash detonate since the instant cast buff. You can swap it out for Lightning Spire Trap 4L for some extra damage. Best of luck in Betrayal! I have Increased Duration on my Spell Totem. This no longer works in 3.3, so you can use a support like Faster Casting or save the link. As of the instant cast changes, you can drop it altogether. You can swap added cold for lightning for more damage, but your damage is overkill and the safety from freeze is super valuable Lab Order: I took Blind , Regen , Mine nodes and leveled with arc traps to try it out. If I leveled as mines, I'd go Blind , Mine Nodes , Regen. Items: Atziri's Foible isn't required, I just really like the mana regen. You can use a Life/Multi/Lightning or Spell Damage/Mana regen amulet instead. If you want to go even faster and can spare resists, you can use Dance of the Offered to give you onslaught. I personally would stick with rare 30 movement speed temple boots with life/resist/chance to dodge attacks or spells. Bossing: If you want more damage for guardians, you can drop added cold for added lightning or trap and mine damage (I hate trap & mine because of laying speed reduction) and use a spell dagger like the one I included in POB (does not have to be nearly as good, just aspd + flat lightning to spells + multi is fine) The maps I mostly ran were Shaped Underground Sea (T11) Shaped Armoury (T13) Shaped Moon Temple (T14) Shaped Orchard (T15) and Lair of the Hydra (T16) I picked Orchard because it was in my elder influence area and easy to keep elder on. Sorry for my quiet voice, I need to work on talking louder lol. Some things I forgot to mention in the video: Bandits: Life, Kill, Endurance Charge Leveling: Not fast and kind of rough starting out but once you get rf in act 2 you can start with the build right away and supplement it with firestorm. Build really takes off when you get soul mantle at 49, you basically kill everything in your way because you have in essence a lvl 20 version of your skill at lvl 49. After that its just a matter of getting your resistances fixed to switch out from Aurumvorax for a doryanis. Everything about this build is extremely cheap besides doryanis, making this a great league starter. Starting out this league I've gotten a lot of wealth with this build since i can run almost all map mods, only ones that I stay away from are no regen, everything else is very doable. Skills used in this build: Orb of storms to procc EE, EO, and apply double curses for maximum damage scaling. RF is linked with Inc Aoe, Rapid Decay, Minion and Totem Res, Less Duration, and Ele Focus, plus spell totem from the chest. Conc is switched in for particularly tanky mobs/bosses. CWDT linked with vortex, IC, and inc duration. Vaal Lightning trap to shock bosses and tanky mobs. Decoy Totem because due to the huge amount of totem life we get this thing can tank alot of bosses and keep them busy while my rf totem degens them down, very huge help with survivability. Shield Charge with faster attacks and fortify Flame dash for teleport situations. Link to the build (poeplanner): poeurl.com/bb93 *EDIT* I have done all the endgame content i can besides uber atziri, chayula, the phys breachlord (forgetting name), and the pale council. Shaper is not viable in the builds current itteration, it just simply doesn't do enough damage. However, this build can effectively and relatively safely farm hydra, chimera, and can do pheonix deathless if played carefully, seeing as all the crap on the screen is really what the issue is. As far as breachlords all of them are extremely easy to deal with, with tul and xoph being absolute jokes, I esh was done deathless but there was one or 2 close calls where I was too close to his shock nova, but all of these bosses stated here could be farmed in hc without much hassle. Its also important to note that this is a very very very budget build to complete that level of content imo, almost every red rare corrupted map i've done has been extremely easy by abusing decoy totem with your rf totem on bossses.

PoE 3.5 - Spidermancer - Arakaali's Fang Necromancer

This is a showcase of my build in Waterways, a T9 map. Note: My character is only level 73 at this time, which means the map is 3 levels higher than I am, but the build is going so well that I had to record a run. No PoB right now, it's kinda cheaty since it relies on poison stacking and long duration. My "optimized" build shows 12m DPS, and 4.5m on Shaper, but that doesn't mean much. Witch/Necro Spidermancer, with Arakaali's Fang. Poison and Curse focused, with Hatred, 3 active curses, Wither, and Spirit Offering. 5600 life, Loreweave when you can fit it, and Temp Chains/Enfeeble. Build is focused around the spiders summoned by Arakali's fang, and stacking their poison. You can trigger spiders by dropping Desecrate, and killing a writhing jar worm. The daggers summon spiders works differently than you would think. Each time you kill, it triggers ans summons 2 spiders for EACH corpse it consumes, up to it's max of 20. This means you can instantly summon 20 spiders with one worm kill. The spiders are nice and fast, as you can see, and I think this might end up being viable for all end game content. Glitterdisc EoI-CwDT summoner concept (PoE 3.4 Necromancer)

Map: Tier 2 Marsh Build is unoptimised. This is a proof-of-concept using Glitterdisc to trigger EoI-CwDT, based off DreamScythe's "Cast on Crawler" and alexh1985's "Lazy Walker" (I have viewed no other similar builds so far, any similarity to existing builds is coincidental) Strategy: Ngamahu's Sign adds fire damage to allow all hits to ignite. Orb of Storms - CwC - Ball Lightning triggers initial ignites. EoI deals self-fire damage and Ngamahu's Sign recovers it. Mokou's Embrace ignites you from EoI damage. Glitterdisc ramps chance to ignite to 100% while you are ignited. Razor of the Seventh Sun further recovers 1% of max life per ignite. CwDT triggers firestorm, bladefall, blade vortex, unearth, volatile dead, bone offering, summon skeleton and cremation (with varying CwDT levels and supports). Bladefall and blade vortex have 100% chance to poison to trigger agony crawler. Comments? Leave below. This is just a concept as far as I'm concerned while experimenting for my 3.5 leaguestarter, I don't think I can take this to T16+ content. Mechanics-wise Juggernaut feels superior anyway.

This is what I initally wanted the build to play like, but it's a little too unsafe to physical damage spikes despite the huge effective life pool and regeneration per second. The skeleton drop-off is rather annoying too. My best bet to why this happen is that skeletons have a 0.40 duration and cwdt has a 0.25 cooldown, so when a skeleton spawns from cwdt, they have to survive for 0.25 and only THEN die (for their remaining lifespan of 0.15). If they die within the first 0.25 of their existence, cwdt will be on cooldown so it will not generate a new skeleton. If this is effectively what's happening, I can't think of a way to remedy it.
