How to solve this Error: VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.
Linux Leech (24 days ago)
You might not have it enabled in BIOS or UEFI. This video discusses the CPU flags associated with VT-x/AMD-V https://youtu.be/dLuFljsM688

I have a question a couple actually. I have a flash drive with Debian on it with a lot of Ham Programs on it. I would like to create a stick with Ubuntu on it with these programs on it. Can you give me a workflow for that? [email protected] I want to be able to have it in the form of a live USB. I think if I tried to do persistent install would have to have a user name and password?

Unable to boot please use a kernel appropriate for your cpu
xactidemi (1 year ago)
No I can also start a 64 bit I can chose wen i create a new start system
Linux Leech (1 year ago)
I'm guessing you are trying to install a 64bit OS. Your virtualbox install is only giving you a 32bit CPU. You will have to go into you computers BIOS or UEFI and enable visualisation settings. I recommend that you google how to do that for your specific computer or if you have the manual for your computer it should tell you how to do it in there.

TheMourningPalace, what I recommend to do is to reinstall the iso, then make sure you haven't tried to use the old file, and another message may come up, about the USB capability. If it does, un select the USB 2.0 checked box. If not, try another file...
Oliver Griengl-Schott (4 years ago)
I am having the same problem, and in parentheses it states (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED). I am unsure if I am to install another file or try again?

is there a way to make the new disk drive somewhere other than my c:/ drive? PLZZZ help!!
Linux Leech (4 years ago)
You can put them wherever you want. When you create a new VM select not to create a new disk, you will get a warning just ignore it. Once the VM is created go to the storage settings for your new VM and in the storage tree left click on Controller: SATA, then click on the square looking icon with the + sign under the storage tree box. You will have a small box popup with a few options, click on, "Add hard disk" then click on create new disk, select the disk type you want and click next then select fixed or dynamic and next. Now you should be at the File location and size options to the right of the text box where you choose the name of the disk click the file icon and select where you want to put your disk then click create and you are done.

i gave it 4 gb ram which should be plenty but sadly it was still laggy, thanks anyway^^
Carlos Breaker (5 years ago)
Remember that you're using a "computer inside a computer", which means that your hardware has to deal with them both. You'll need a really competitive one if you want to handle new games! When you created the virtual machine, did you remember to give it a good memory too? the recommended option is not always enough
21asds (5 years ago)
I installed ubuntu 12.10 on my gaming computer and it was also a little laggy so I think it might be ubuntu.
