I was pretty excited Mickey Mousecapade for NES back in the day. I saw it at a rental store, got home and instantly got upset. It didn't stop me from renting it a handful of times though trying to force myself to like it. Probably because it was Mickey Mouse. Everyone knows how awesome he and Minnie Mouse are. Another one that comes to mind is Batman Forever. Such a terrible game.

Awesome video Gemma, I completely agree, Theme park is awesome and Theme Hospital was great too, they need to bring out more games like these! Newer games need to take a leaf out of some Retro games' books! I love the "2 Girl 1 Gaming topic Videos" look forward to these every time, also, As If I needed to say, I love Jess in your Videos, she definitely adds another perspective and It's great to hear both your thoughts and opinions on things! Love you both to bits! :D

Toejam & Earl for me I don't know what to do when I play it lol but they fixed it with the sequel which was a decent platformer. :)

Probably every second C64 game. Especially when the box art featured photos of the Amiga version and not the C64 version that I got!

Taz Mania for the Mega Drive. What was that about? That was a sad Christmas. Tried playing it for the channel again last week but just switched it off. Best left forgotten me thinks.

Going waaaaay back but Licence To Kill on Sega Megadrive/Genesis...I didn't feel like James Bond. More like the Brooke Bond chimpanzees 😂

I've always been a Nintendo gamer so I missed out on Sega/Sony consoles back in the day.. About 5 years I managed to get hold of MGS The Twin Snakes on GC, which I was really looking forward to playing, not least because I remember the hype around the original PS1 game. There was always this rivalry between N64 and PS1 gamers over which games were best Goldeneye or MGS. Goldeneye for me resurrected my interest in gaming back in '97 after a few years when I'd completely lost interest. Anyway back to Twin snakes, well for me I could not see what all the fuss was about. Sooooo much boring dialogue and mediocre gameplay. The sniper rifle in MGS? Not a patch on Goldeneye's. I completed it once and I know I wont play it again. A good topic Gemma, maybe some games needed to be played at the time? Not all games hold up that well

Altered Beast on the Mega Drive. I thought, awesome, you can change into a dragon, yea for half a level then the douchebag would take it off you at the end of the level. 'Welcome to your doom' grrr punch him in the face. Oh and terrible graphics, even for the Mega Drive.

Jess is spot on. Ecco the dolphin 🐬 is pants. I wanted to love it because it actually looked good. When it came to playing it, it was a total dry lunch. I have a copy but I'm not sure why 😬 As for Earthworm Jim... amazing! I remember my best mate had it, I was really jealous. The craziness of the level design I loved. It was really fresh in comparison to what was out at the time.

How come you couldn't save your game in Sim City?

When Ecco was released, I was still with my original Atari ST. I saw the game playing in an Amiga and I liked how it looked, even though I didn't completely get it. Soon after (93) I got my A1200 and Ecco was one of the few games I got. Very disappointed. I found the gameplay boring. After than, not many disappointments that I can think of. At least not to the point of not wanting to play a game. The one that comes to mind is Borderlands 2. I enjoyed the first one very much and was looking forwards playing 2. When I got it I played it for a few hours and was so unbelievably bored with it, I uninstalled it and never even second guessed my decision to remove it.

Phantasy Star III for Mega Drive. After the masterpiece master system original then a half decent sequel, the third was a real let down

I hated Shining Force on the Mega Drive back when i was a kid then played it again years later and it has become one of my favorite games of all time.

Rise of the robots. I begged my dad to get me it on Megadrive, then couldn't believe the shower of shit it really was.

I agree with you girls about Ecco, I played it at a friend's house back in 1992 and was glad I didn't buy it!

OMG Jess I must of played Ecco the dolphin with my brother and sisters for hours as a kid. Love it! I guess Kingdom Hearts is the series I was excited for but been most dissapointed by. I love Disney and I love Square Enix and Final Fantasy and RPG's but it just wasn't as good I was hoping for. The two PS2 games are still great, just not as amazing as they could be but most of the spin offs are crap.

When you guys mentioned Theme Hospital I had the biggest nostalgia trip! I loved that game as a kid. Not retro, but Pokemon Battle Revolution was a HUGE let down for me. I was super excited to play a Pokémon game on my Wii back then, turned out you could only really play the game if you imported teams from your NDS Pokémon games at the time? At least that's what I remember. I was super let down considering it was priced quite high at the time and sold it the next day

Metal Gear Solid for me. It has such a stellar reputation, but it was like watching a bad movie with brief moments of gameplay. I've gone off cinematic games as I've got older which probably doesn't help.
